Ritteri - How does it look?

How does my H Mag look?
Day 1 it didn't look very relaxed, didn't move, mouth closed.
Day 2 it looked very relaxed and more spread out. Notice the black string coming from mouth, mouth relatively closed.
Day 3 it has moved and mouth has begun opening.

Water parameters are pretty good.
Water temp - 78
Ammonia - 0
Phosphate - .03 ppm
Calcium - 425
Alkalinity - 9.3
Nitrates - 12-15 ppm (A bit high, just replaced some bad DI resin, I leached some nitrates from city water. Planning a water change tomorrow)

Tank is 10 years old, stable and healthy.
Acclimated over 4 hours using the float and transfer method.

Looks ok from what we can see in pics, and it's typical for them to be a little stressed adjusting to new params/light, but really the main thing to watch for is deflation which is something that can come and go so it's a matter of observation on your end.

That's what I was thinking as well. I've been doing some more reading over the last hour and I've gathered that deflation is the one real key indicator of degrading health.

If it deflates, would you suggest pulling it at first sight, for cipro treatment? or rather waiting it out?

It deflated this AM. I'm filling the hospital tank now with 20-25 gallons. Going to start treatment ASAP.

Is it okay to leave the H. Mag in Cipro for 24 hours+ instead of the 12 hour transfer method stickied above? I don't have 2 tanks.

It's 250mg Cipro in 10 gallons of water per 24 hours for 5 days minimum, 7 days is best. Change 100% of the water each night before lights out, then add the Cipro. Then keep in QT with no meds to observe. For optimal results do not fluctuate from the protocol.

Thank you! I have 500mg tablets and the hospital tank is 40 gallons. Half full is 20 gallons, which works out to 250mg per 10 gallons.
I just started the first round of treatment tonight.

Wish I had a slightly smaller tank for this!

I read in the sticky that is was 50% water changes per night, have you had greater success with 100% water changes?

I am now 5 days into the Cipro Treatment, tonight will be my 6th dose of 500mg. I've been doing 80-100% water changes every night before re-administering a new dose.

I pulled the Ritteri 5 hours after it deflated on my sand bed.
Here is the Ritteri 5 hours after being in the hospital tank with Cipro.
Not sticky to touch.
Day 1:

Day 2:
Looking a bit worse.
Not sticky to touch.

Day 3:
The anemone fully deflated and began to become mushy. Turns out my refractometer broke. The seal around the prisim started leaking water into the chamber. I was getting high readings the past 2 days. The water was at 1.0265 Salinity.

Day 4:
Not mushy, mouth wide open

Day 5:
Looking better than Day 3. Mouth is still open but looking much healthier.
New refractometer, water is back at 1.0245.
Slightly sticky to touch.

I always do 100% water change these day. It is better. I will look and see what I wrote. Will change if it said 50% water change

The write up said to change all the water daily and whenever there are discharge that cause clowndy water
Your anemone looks a lot better

Thanks OrionN! Your thread has been very helpful. I don't remember where I saw 50% now. Of course, I read so many posts regarding anemones, I could have mixed together info. Whoops!

I'm leaving town in 4 days. Hopefully this guy springs back by then so I can return him to the display. I would like to keep him in the hospital tank longer, but I'm not sure that's possible.
