Rob's 300 Gallon Deep Dimensions!

What skimmer do you plan to use? The sump is 20" tall, will you have enough space to get the skimmer in there?

Im using the ATB 1050a v1.5 which is 22" tall. My stand is 34", will not have a problem for fitment. Luckily I didn't buy the standard stand which is only 29"

Just curious, why don't you run the plumbing through the wall and into the garage?

We have the laundry room, behind the tank. But my wife has all the upgraded cabinets in there. I have already discussed it with her, and has been a heated battle everytime :(, I would have to chuck the sink, counter top and cabinets to house the sump in there and she is not having it. I have my ATO reservoir, my RODI unit and dosing reservoir already in there, I didn't ask her, when I did it, funny thing is she didn't notice the tubes going into the wall until I told her. I used cable wall plates and made it look nice and tidy. I am planning to put all my electrical ie: Apex unit and all the electrical plugs in that room as well.

Gotcha, I didn't look that close, just assumed the garage was on the other side. First thing that comes to mind is to just run plumbing through that room out of sight but I don't know the details or if you even want life support in the garage.

I like how high you built it. That is the one thing I HATE about the Marineland stand is how low it is... I need to be on my knees or sitting to see in the factory stand. Plus how they think you can fit anything in a stand with 24" clearance is beyond me...

Did my background with Plastidip, turned out great. Used 2 cans, that cost around $7.00.

Now its time to get dirty, family members are gone from thanksgiving. Time for the breakdown, setting up the 300G stocktank and laying out the 18" travertine tile.

Filling up the tank.

Is this worth saving, it's about 200lbs of sand, which is about 10 yrs old.

Not unless you want to manually rinse all the grunge out of it first - about 10 lbs at a time. Once you stop flowing water over it old tank sand quickly turns septic and a huge source of pollution in a new tank unless you clean it all first. Same happens with a deep sand filter. Can be done but takes a while to get it to run clear.

Nice thread. I love the DD tanks. I have the 200 DD and ran out of space fast. I could only imagine the 300 must be crazy!

Your stand is great too. I wouldn't have any worry with that. My marineland stand is about 5/8 particle board all the way around.
