Only sad note, is Im holding Thanksgiving at my house for the family and I cant start construction until the 30th, since we are redoing our floors and I need to tile the section where the tank is going, and maybe break down a few walls :lolspin:

Stand looks awesome. Great carpentry skills. I am also considering the Kessils too so can't wait to see those in action.

Im considering buying the 60" ATI power modules to supplement the Kessils, Just waiting until after Thanksgiving is killing me. Having all my stuff ready to go! My wifey doesn't want the house looking like a Construction Zone when we have our family over.

I'm going through the same thing here. Getting the house ready for the holidays and I have to move my 225 out so we can have a real dining area.

Congratulations on the upgrade! Now, only trying to help out here with regard to the stand. It seams the majority of your tank weight is carried to the vertical support structure (and therfore to the floor) through the hardware. A better design is to knotch the 4x4posts and set the horizontal members into the 4x4. Also, I would have doubled up the 2x6's (glued and screwed) to make a header along the front and back...and would have used 2x8's actually. A 2x6 has little strength (relatively speaking). Sincerely only trying to help out.

Edit: sorry completely missed the second page of the thread. Had no idea you were as far as you are. I feel like a total a$$ for saying anything.

No worries, Stand is holding up pretty well. Did a water test a few days ago, to check the tank for leakage, and the stand was solid.

That would give you a ton of light. My tank is the same dimensions and I've started with two 4x80w ATI fixtures over it. I had been thinking that I'd add leds to them but after taking some par readings it probably wouldn't be necessary. If I do it it will probably just be to get a little more pop.

The stand looks great btw. I need to skim mine still and it is definitely giving me some ideas.

Sump Finally delivered! Thing is Huge!!

Late afternoon, need to help my clients move into their new home and have to pick up my 300g stock tank right after, maybe 5pm

Ok guys, going to need some expert input and advise. I need to purchase some lights to compliment my 3 Kessil A360W's. I am considering ATI 60" 4x80 Powermodules or Sunpower 6x80, or Buy 3 more Kessil A360We which are the new Kessils coming out.

what do you guys think?

That is one heck of a beautiful stand you crafted, just had to say. Hard to believe you're a rookie at it from the finish work. Water and fish now!!! Just kidding

Haha, my wife said the same thing, she couldn't believe I built that stand. I took a few days off and it was a wrap!

Thought, going with the size of your tank why dont you run the Kessils down the middle and place two 60" T5s on each side with coral+ and blue+ or fiji purple?
