Rolling the dice on another gigantea

So my wife stopped at the local pet store to pick up a frozen rat for her snake. While waiting she always browses the fish department in case she sees something unusual. She texted me the pic below because she knows I love anemones.

It is obviously going to need some TLC (and maybe cipro), but if it recovers I might end up with a nice gig for $45.

I'm on the hunt for a nice green one right now too. What shop was this?

Pet City in Lutz/Wesley Chapel. It is a pet store, not a fish store. They didn't have any others in stock. I would never buy fish from them and only got this anemone because gigs are so hard to find.
I'll give you a heads up if I see another gig somewhere.

Sweet thanks. I want to see how this thing progresses.

This makes me want to drive around and see if there are random gigs floating around the stores now. Everything seems to come in waves around here.

I was just at FAOIS so I know they don't have any, but they did have two very colorful mags.

I just bought a purple base mag from them last week and picked up another mag from another store on a barter yesterday lol. I'm afraid to ask but do you remember what color they were?

They had several but two of them were exceptional. I think one had the red base (not true purple) and one had a tan base, but both had very colorful tentacles that were predominantly purple and yellow.

24 hour update - The pics above (from my wife's cell phone) were a bit misleading. The anemone does not have nearly the amount of yellow color that you see in those pics. The nem is almost completely white with the barest hint of a yellow-grren tint. It does have a nice blue base almost identical to my blue gig.
Within minutes of putting it in one of my tanks, it attached to a rock and the mouth closed tightly. This morning it was in the same place with the mouth slightly open and the siphonoglyph exposed. I assume it was probably adjusting to the new water. After a few hours the mouth closed up tight and stayed that way. The anemone has not deflated as yet, and has maintained its same position and posture.
The pic below is closer to the actual appearance of the nem, but there is a bit of a tint that does not show up in the pic. It has a long way to go, and hopefully I will be able to document the recovery all the back to good health.

So far, so good. The nem has regained a bit more color in some of the areas that the most tint remaining. It's certainly nothing to write home about, but I'll be happy with any increase in color considering how bleached it was.
The nem has stayed in one place and has not deflated at all. It also took a tiny piece of shrimp today and is already a little stickier in places.

More updates to come.

So have you even made it home yet? I see the wife's pictures but not yours. HAHAHA

Who really likes anemones?

He looks great (healthy other than bleached) I hope he will do well for you and will turn bright green. In poor condition like that they can loose a lot of color and will regain it when you give him better care.
