Rovster's Custom Reef Savvy build......FINALLY!!!

White snot. Literally. I did not observe this in my display only the 30. That said I was away from it for four days when it was at it's worst so who knows.

Here is a picture of 40 gal of freshly mixed sw that I left a pump that came into contact with my water over the weekend. It's not too bad but I chucked the water. You can make out the bacterial strands at the surface.

You want them? :p

Seriously though if anyone wants them they're free. They eat like hogs. Would make a nice bioload for a frag tank or would do great in a huge tank lol. Very active and always out in the open!

I basically ramp up from deep blue to 12k then back down. I decreased the intensity in the middle of the curve do it's flat in the middle. I was at 60-65% and was due for another increase because my corals were asking for more. I started them at around 45% and was increasing every few weeks.

I'll post a screenshot when I get a chance.

Thanks. I have 2 gen 2 pros and i have them at 40% and my few eps are growing and coloring good. I am afraid to up them anymore because I don't want my acans to lose any color. My tank is only 18" deep.

Figured I'd post a small update. Tank is humming along. I still have a few corals that have peeling bases but the peeling has either slowed or stopped. Unfortunately the damage is done. That said all my milles are totally recovered and are showing full polyp extension and I even noticed some growth. I have a few pieces that are definitely growing and coloring and the nem is back to full glory from before the crash, although it did move to a new spot during the crash.

I would also like to thank Eddie, el presidente for giving me some tester frags. It's not been a week yet but they are doing great, including a deep water which are typically sensitive. The healthiest looking frag he gave me is even showing some signs of basing, even if it's just a tiny bit. Thanks again viejo!

I also added a bunch of fish. I added a gorgeous flame angel, 3 anthias, and a couple of fire fish. Tank looks much busier now and I'm hoping the added fish will add some nitrate! I'm still dealing with some brown snot and cyano but it's not terrible. My computer kicked the bucket so I can't post nice pics but here is a recent FTS taken with phone.

I also dropped my light back down to where it was before the crash because some of my pieces on the periphery looked like they wanted more (I had raised the lights after the crash to reduce intensity).

Another bit of great news is my family gifted my some gift certificates for my favorite online coral vendor to help with the "rebuild" so big thanks to them too!

I've been trying to upload a video for the past week so stay tuned for that!

Good news on the recovery. It will take a while, but so long as you keep on top of things, it can only get better. You know what you're doing buddy, so I want to see some nice coral shots in 3 months time. :)

Thanks! Yeah, it takes time. Hardest thing was getting to where I am now and feeling good that the worst is over and things are the up and up, albeit slow. As long as things continue to improve, I'm good. I'm pretty patient;)

Looking good Danny. Believe me, it took five months to get the tank recovered from an Alk swing and now everything is growing like crazy. Yours will too.

Nick

Thanks. Yeah, with the exception of my monster green chromis, I'm really happy with the fish. I may donate the chromis and add another 2-3 anthias and some sand gobies but otherwise I'm fully stocked. I do have a bonded pair of swissguard basslets that I love. They are always hanging out.

A buddy of mine gave me a couple more frags so shout out it him lol. As soon as I get another computer I'll start posting some macros. I also want to increase my lighting intensity but I can't do that via phone:(
