Rovster's Custom Reef Savvy build......FINALLY!!!

can you please translate that graph for those that dont speak LED graph?:wildone:

or provide a legend- i bet most of you young guys dont even know what a "legend"is? No its not Dan Marino, LOL. :uzi:

It's not an LED graph, it's specific to Radions. What you are looking at is a screenshot from my Ecosmart Live (ESL). Basically is a way I can control and program my Radions and vortechs if I choose online.

The line represents the overall intensity of the lights. The colored lines are the individual color channels. Each point is a different color profile set by me. You can also set an overall intensity with a slider on the left.

It's a little more advanced than the on-off switch on your halide. I have complete control over the lights, which in reality I think is more of a disadvantage than advantage because it always tempts you to tweak it just a little more, LOL,

Nice Rovster. Wanna start all over on mine? Lol. Love those basselets.

Thanks but no thanks. I haven't updated because my tank went through a little funk which was very strange. Over the last few weeks things have been looking great....

You can read about my funk here...
http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2478611

I'm toying with the idea of adding some t5 but color is definitely not lacking. I'd like to fill in some of the outer areas with the t5. I've noticed that anything I put within the span of the lights looks amazing. Everything outside that footprint still looks good but the shaded areas look rather drab.

I was going to wait a couple more weeks and then post a nice photo update so stay tuned;)

Figured I'd post a few pics. These were taken either last week or the week before. Couple of issues I'm dealing with is my flame won't stop picking at my corals so polyp extension on EVERYTHING is nonexistent. Gotta catch him and get rid of him. Sucks because he's my wife's favorite fish and one of mine as well. Other issue is that my tank went ULNS and all my chaeto died and dumped a bunch of crap back in so now I'm dealing with elevated-ish nutrients with no more help from chaeto but I'm managing fine. Trying to bring them down a bit but other than a little darkening no major issues.

I recently added some awesome frags from reeflover62...

ORA PB I posted in the other thread...

OG Purple Monster, Rouge Mille, and Oregon Tort. Pics not photochopped, straight out of camera...

Copps Hulk Mille. Looks stoopid without polyps, lol!

This thing woke up. It's going to be cool! BC Golden Eye...

Eddie's frag. No name. As of today has 2 little growth nubs. Not in the pic...

Palmers blue is insane...

Not much to show here but this piece went totally grey in my funk. Insane color coming back. SunnyX sunset

Tyree Pink lemonade finally waking up. Little branches starting to shoot up everyday it seems. In 6 mo should have a nice little minicolony:D

Tri color is about to explode!

Recognize this Eddie?:p

Joe's Rainbow started as a 1/4" nub is encrusting really well...

This slimer has been through hell and back. Lost all branches and kept just some base. Lots of shoots recently!

CB the thing anacropora starting to take off finally. This thing is ridiculous under actinic...

Left island...

Right island, sorry about the glare...

The whole shebang...

I forgot to mention that recently I lost 2 fish, my DaVinci clown and a helfrichi firefish. They were both healthy as can be. My theory is my newly acquired pistol shrimp knocked them out! My friends think in crazy.

The pistol shrimp first made his home where the clown used to hang out and the clown would sometimes chase food in there.

A month later the pistol relocated to where the helfrichi hung out. Next day the helfrichi is stunned limp and by the end if the day the CUC were devouring him.

Wow didn't realize your were getting such great color under radion leds. What generation are they and can you give us some info on settings/Schedual?

Dude, radions give awesome color, where have you been;)
I'm running G2 pros

What do you want to know? My observations are:

1. You need 1.5-2X the number of fixtures recommended.
2. Hang them high (mine are at 13")
3. Start slow and increase intensity SLOWLY
4. Make sure you have sufficient "white" light.

I think colors were a smidge better under the halide, but if you saw my tank in person by no means would you say the colors suck (this coming from a colorblind per some so take that comment for what it's worth;))

I don't edit my pics, what you see is what you get. I usually tend to mess things up in post processing because of my colorblindness:wildone:

can you please post a picture of your color graph. Thanks so much. I'm hesitant to switch to leds but might make the jump soon

I posted that info before. I've tweaked it a bit but it's mostly the same. Another thing is you must resist the urge to tweak the schedules. Hard to do lol! Next time I'm tweaking I'll post another screen shot so Eddie can wonder what the heck it means:D

tanks looking good Rovster. Yes I recognize my Hawkins Echinata. Patience. They start slow then just bloom!!
