Thought I was do for a mini update. Tank is humming along well and I am in the middle of restocking. El Presidente gave me some tester frags that are doing well, and another friend hooked me up some frags as well. This past friday I got a trio of frags, and the rest are coming in next Friday. I gotta say something, Adam from BattleCorals has been so awesome. He is replacing all the frags I lost and then some for a SUPER modest fee, so modest I feel like I am ripping him off, LOL! Big public thanks to him, and can't wait until the frags get here.
As far as what is happening in my tank now. Most of my SPS are doing good. I had a few that were bleaching and that had suffered a huge hit from the crash so I lowered my lighting intensity from 70% to 50% a few weeks ago. I have also been feeding a ridiculous amount to try and fatten up my new anthias. This has caused a noticeable change in the tank. Overall a lot of the corals are leaning towards the darker green/brown look, and the tank has the appearance of "too many nutrients", althouth my kits say otherwise. Today I increased the intensity back to 60% so I hope that will help.
Here is a the tester frag E gave me a few weeks ago. He forgot the name, if he can't remember it I will rename it something ridiculous.
Day 1...
Here is a few weeks in my tank. It looks reasonably happy and is slowly coloring up and laying down a base....
Here is a hawkins Eddie also gave me as a "true" tester.
I don't have a current pic, but its definitely growing and its got a nice teal-blue color. Its starting to encrust ever so slowly over the glue as well...
And now for some survivors...
My froggy got hit hard, and is one of the corals that was bleaching. It still looks like garbage, but its hanging in there. The left side and underside had a lot of damage....The stag on the left Eddie gave me and its brown as heck!
My blue tort has definitely lost its luster, and had some STN but it seems to be doing fine for now...
More to follow....
