Royal-Exclusiv Bubble King Double Cone 150 - PreOrder Now!

Do you think the 150 will be a huge improvement vs the actual SRO 1000-SSS for my 125 SPS and heavily stock tank?

The Vertex Omega uses a Sicce based pump versus the Askoll based pump of the Bubble King. The Askoll is a much quieter block, and stronger as well. The Red Dragon will definitely run more quiet than what the Sicce will, and the Double Cone will be silent, period, such as your Mini 160. You will also get a much larger range of adjustment with the Red Dragon adjustable venturi than what you will the Omega. The Vertex Alpha skimmers have about a 600LPH our or so range of adjustment on their pump, however the Omega's do not have as much, it's only about 100LPH of range of adjustment. In my opinion that is not all that much of a big deal though.

The XP1000-SSS is kind of a different skimmer pump matching wise. It uses an XP 2000 body, then utilizes a smaller collection cup and neck to sit on that, but uses the smaller Bubble Blaster 1000 pump. It does work well, but the body to neck transition is kind of different on it. I think the SRO-2000Int would be more appropriate, and is actually a beast of a skimmer, if you're sticking with Octopus on that size tank. The Double Cone 150 would be more comparable to the SRO 2000 Int, instead of the 1000.

Thanks Jeremy...

My main issue is my sump that is a 30 long tank and have a height clearance of 23". I will get specs for both...Thanks...

Have you heard this run yet Jeremy?
I just can't take the vertex noise any more the constant humm and no silicone coupling replacements available it's time for a new skimmer.

I haven't heard it but I do have the Mini 160 and had the Mini 180. They are DEAD SILENT.
Ken

Thanks Ken
I've had both those and yes I agree with you they are dead silent but with the size of this skimmer and the pump externally I just want to be sure ya know?

The Omega was supposed to be quiet and my wife has done nothing but complain about it LOL

I have not yet, but it's the exact same pump that the Mini's have, and what the Alpha's used when they were making them for Vertex, and the pump is QUIET.

Jeremy - Are we still looking good for a Monday 12/23 ship date?

As long as UPS does not delay anything and gets the shipment to us on Monday we will ship the same day. As of right now it's still scheduled to arrive then.

Unfortunately UPS did not get our shipment to us today so I'm hoping it will show up on Thursday afternoon now. I will post back here once it arrives.
