This morning I came into work and my Huge Sebae Anemone was/is lodged into my Fluval 405 pump. I disconnected it and now its well.. here is a picture. I don't know what to do. It was absolutely an amazing Anemone.

:sad1:

Before and After Pics.. Is there anything I can do? :sad2:

Thats a shame, I have yet to have that happen but I have read many people who have. If it were me I would wait to see if it moves out. I hope people that have had this happen to will chime in and give you advice on this. Good luck, hope it makes it, it looks like an really nice anemone.

Thanks bhotep.

Here is an update. Looks like the Anemone might be slowly pushing it out.

Good luck with it. It must have been unhappy with something in the tank or it wouldn't have been moving. Hopefully all goes well.

So far so good! My Sebae Anemone made it through the night and I think it will recover just fine. YAY! :celeb1:

Double yay! Maybe you can put something around the pump intake so it won't end up in it again.

Yeah I cut the line so it sits a lot higher. It won't happen again!

I'm soo happy it made it!:dance::dance:

Thanks for the support guys. :fun2:

Did it lose any tentacles? I had a BTA get stuck in the powerhead quite possibly the biggest heart stopper in the reefer biz is finding your anemone attatched to your filitration unwillingly.

When I first got my purple one it went into my powerhead twice because I kept placing it on the sand. As soon as I just let it settle on the rockwork it stopped floating up. It has made a full recovery except for one mutant tentacle that is split and has about seven different kinks in it. If they are healthy to begin with, they are pretty resilient creatures.

Yeah it lost TONS of tentacles. I had a hell of a time catching all the loose dead tentacles. It was definitely a heart stopper when I walked in. I thought for sure it was a goner. Resilient buggers! :eek2:

I think it could be said that anemones are some of the most fragile hardy specimens in the reef tank:D glad to hear only tentacles were lost, I had an lta the got his oral diskbeat up something fierce and never recovered. Bleeding shame.

But, congrats on the nem making it through. you should keep us up to date on the recovery
