Schnitzel's Sticks

Schnitzel's Sticks

You have your effluent wide open? I guess I should have asked for a pic of your tank first. Lol if that 618 can't keep up, your tank must be jam packed with huge colonies.

I used to run a Korallin 1502, and it kept up no problem. The only issue was I burned through the media so fast, I had to refill it every 4-6 months. My 624 lasts about 18 months before I refill it.

The effluent is open partially, very fast drip. Almost a light stream. My reef is very young. Only a year old but packed with small colonies. It makes sense about the pump being too small for the reactor. It's just surprising to me that I've never had this issue before. Regardless, I'm happy I've already purchased the 624. They've clearly upgraded the pumps to nearly 6x times the water turnover from the old style pumps. The 624 comes with the sicce 3.0. Here's the pic of my reef.

Holy crap!!! You must be shoveling calcium in there like a miner feeding a coal oven!!
That is really an amazing shot. I can see the corals growing and it's only a photo.
What is that small pinkish acro at the bottom bottom, directly below the blue tenuis?

That's the megamind acro. It's not supposed to be pink lol. In my tank it's very pale, I just recently started dosing nitrates again.

Question for you, how do you post pictures to RC? Since Photobucket stopped allowing it, I'm looking for a new site. Preferably something that has an app I can upload pics to, and it gives me an IMG code to post to my threads. Thanks.

I want a megamind!!!
Sorry, I seem to be one of the lucky schmucks who paid for an upgrade package last year.. so far I am still using Photobucket.
Apparently tapatalk will use your phone as the host..
Otherwise I see some using flikr..

I wouldn't mind paying for Photobucket, but $400 a year is insane. I enjoy this hobby and all, but no way I'm spending that kind of money just to share pictures with everyone. Does PB cost you $400/year?

What exactly does that mean that tapatalk will use my phone as a host? I used to only post pics with tapatalk, but I would get people complaining that they couldn't view my pics from a PC.

I'd have to check but I think I pay $8 or $10 a month. I took the cheapest upgrade when it was offered sometime last year.
Check out Pife's thread. He just started using tapatalk.. practically never is a pc, though.

Just amazing. You really gotta do some top downs..
Once again I am in love with a coral down low in the photo. I think I asked you about it already.. that baby blue acro to the upper right of the yellow tang..
If I had that coral growing next to your megamind, I'd be a happy camper!

Wow your tank is exploding with growth. I'm getting ready to pick up a regal Angel that's been at the lfs for 6 weeks and was wondering how you introduced yours to the tank? My DT has no other fish in it yet and am thinking of adding it first? Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I agree, it is a really nice looking acro.

I'll do some top downs soon. Just for you. [emoji1303]

Wish I could offer you some advice. I bought the fish from a local hobbyists breaking down his tank. I didn't do anything special, just tossed him in. Hope you don't plan on adding any acans or blastos, my regal destroyed my acans when I added him. He usually leaves my acros alone, but every now and then he will nip at them. Not enough to do any damage.

I use flickr, it allows 3rd party hosting and is free. Once you upload the photo you can click on it, then click on the little arrow at the bottom right (sharing). Then in the window that comes up select "BB Code" and copy/paste the IMG tag code.

You can also select how to resize the image right from that screen.

Beautiful tank! I want to make sure those pics keep coming :D

Photobucket's become a money grab. You can create a new gmail account and use google photos to post pictures. You can have up to a few gigs' worth of pics up on there. Posting is fairly easy. Right click on the photo, "copy image address", and link the photo the same way.

Flickr is an alternative, though they used to limit the amount of photos you can upload for free each week or month. I don't know about now.
