Schnitzel's Sticks

5 and 9 is as accurate as it's going to get - The ULR actually has a fudge factor of four.

After dealing with and researching cyano like a madman the last six months, chances are your sand has some bound up PO4. Running GFO and manual removal are likely the best options until the bound up PO4 is gone.

New toy for my fuge. 90w Kessil H350

Got it for $80 on eBay.

If any of you watched BRS' video on which light worked best at growing chaeto, this one was the clear winner. But the main reason I am getting it is for PH. In BRS' test, the tank with the kessil had a super high PH. I'm gunna see if this makes any impact on raising the ph in my tank.

I am running the H380 on the grow setting which is the one BRS tested in the Chaeto video. I think you might have picked the wrong light?

Looks close enough for me. I don't think chaeto is very picky. I've grown it with all different types of lights. The main reason I chose the kessil was to see if it increased tank PH, and it worked. Oh, and I only paid $80. Win win

I agree!! Great score for $80.....how much has your PH increased? I didnt notice an increase when I added the H380.

Congratulations!! Nice corals and incredible colors!!

Let me ask you for your parameters. No3 value? Ca? Kh?

My corals don't grow during months ....
Phosphates: 0.02
Nitrates: 0
Kh: 6.7
Ca: 430

Thanks

This has to be one of my favorite SPS tanks, it's a shame a bunch of the earlier pics are gone due to PB. I switched to using flickr, they don't compress the images as much and it's free.

Congrats on getting an article about your tank in Reef Hobbyist Mag. Tank looks awesome so I'm not surprised. :)

Congrats, I've been following your tank for awhile. I'm a stickhead too. Where do you get your SPS from?

I've acquired most of the sps in my tank from other hobbyists. It seems like every time I try to get coral from a store or from a vendor, they always end up looking ugly.

Yep I totally agree. Totally ruined my thread.

Thanks buddy!

Very cool shots. Your tank looks amazing under any kind of light.

Love it

Yea nothing fancy like your skills, but just enough to be able to enjoy it. Hahah

My skills? Hey, who’s the one with a fully mature stunning reef. Not me, my friend. I’m still working on that.
Your tank is amazing.

Its always great to see your success. I enjoy following your thread. You seem to choose equipment that is really reliable and you have great control of it as well. Your tank colors are so vibrant. No one gets a tank like that without both a lot of work and attention. It is really wonderful to see what you have accomplished. Inspiring! As always, thank you for sharing

Had an alk swing and lost a couple new frags. :/
But luckily I was able to catch it before any damage was done, tank has been looking great lately.
