Schreiba's ADA 60-F

Thanks schreiba. I was going to get a complete sump from bulkreefsupply.com. And use the Reefoctopus skimmer and 1048 pump. I've been doing a lot of research because of the lack of knowledge of starting the tank. What should I go with in lighting? I want more colorful reef than tool many fish. Thanks again

Are you looking at getting an ada 60-f too? If so that sump seems okay just make sure it can handle the footprint of the skimmer. Also for lighting a 60-f you could go with a 4 bulb T5 fixture, 150W MH pendant, or a smaller LED fixture. Any of those should be great, I have my 150W MH + 4 T5 fixture mainly because I knew I wanted to keep SPS and blast them with light :p
 
Thinking back to the lily pipes, were they a good idea or bad idea? I am setting up a 60p and thinking about drilling or lily pipes. A mame is not in my budget right now.

I would drill it honestly. Lily pipes are very fragile, can be a pain to clean, and have no surface skimming ability. You're also much better off running a sump than a canister filter so. I would try and find the most minimal overflow box possible though to try and keep the "ADA" look unless you're just going to paint the back wall black. I love this tank! It's so simplistic and the lighting is absolutely perfect. Did you get the overflow from Aquatouch? I'm planning on starting a 60-F in the future and Really like the Mame Overflow.

Thanks! And no I got it from a local reefer who was selling it used. I'm considering upgrading too so if the MAME didn't have so much wear on it I'd probably be able to sell it you :p

Nope 24" long. And I was originally using 2 LED bulbs but now run a giesemann fixture with 150W MH and 4 T5.
 
I want one of these tanks so bad! I have a 12 long, and this would complement it nicely. Love the dimensions. Yours is stunning and looks so much larger than it is! I just can't stomach $50 for shipping :p

Yeah the shipping was a killer. But I do love the rimless ADA look, and it looks just as good in person. Maybe you can find a used one locally!
