Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank

Just a quick update of the progress with the tank rescape and change. Everything has been going pretty well, some of my SPS lost a little colour after the change but all have made their way back to normal. Im suffering a little diatom issue on the sandbed but I expected it with the amount of sand I moved around which was unavoidable, I also installed some new tubes which didn't help the cause but hopefully in time it will clear up. Just a few pics of how all is looking now but I also added 3 new pieces today which are shown in the last pic which was taken with my iPhone:)

Your coral selection and placement is excellent. I am particularly fond of the redesign of the corner and the new additions.

Congratulations on the longevity of the system and its stability.

Hi Scotty,

It is lovely to see your plating corals thriving at the lower levels in your tank. I always thought these corals have to be placed high on the rock work, so that they are exposed to high flow and intense light just like on the reef crest.

Love it love it love it!!
This tank is in the pantheon of otherworldly tanks!

Thank you Matt :)
Must admit I was a little scared when I changed things around but it's all turning out well so far.

I thought I did Marty but it really doesn't look like it anymore

Hi Bulent,

I've also been surprised buddy, I thought a few would struggle with light but all are doing well so far. Flow wise they get a good amount because the Tunze push straight down the side glass of the tank :)

Looking back through some of the more impressive tanks I've seen for aquascape inspiration I've gotta say your tank is beautiful, and I love the new 'steps' of corals and will absolutely steal these scape ideas.

Thank you very much Rakie :)

How long have you had thoes spathulata in the last pictures? I can't wait to see this tank next year, especially with thoes acros in it. Superb coral placement and choices. I am very surprised you have stuck it out that long with the pink birdsnest, that's a tough thing to keep so large because of how fast they grow. Keeping it shaped good is so tough to do when you gotta frag so much. Well done. I would have gotten rid of it and made space for other acros a long time ago, but seeing the affect it has on this tank I would maybe regret it. It really keeps your eye and provides a good visual breakup to provide depth.

The tank is looking amazing Scotty! Im loving the change in aquascape and those new corals are looking great. Very nice!

The new layout is great!
Congrats....

Thank you Alex

Excellent reef tank. Well done.......................Jim

Cheers Jim

Your colonies look so grand!

Can't even tell you trimmed. Success! :)

Might be due for another Mark

So many nice things going on in your tank, from the large colonies, to the big clam and the blue linckia. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you very much :)

The yellow and purple Spathulata Id only had a few days when I took that pic, so far they haven't lost any colour but only time will tell. The pink nest is a favourite with the Mrs and kids so that one has to stay haha personally I don't think I could remove it either because of the colour, there's nothing else in the tank that has that vibrant pink colour :)

Thanks Conor, was a bit unsure at first mate but it's growing on me :)

Holy crap I can't believe how much those tabling Acros have grown already!!! LOVE the new section! :D

This scape doesn't compare to the awesome tabling acro steps you added in your tank, but I did my best to steal the hell out of that idea for my 50 cube. Being fond of tables myself, what choice did I have ?! (The big rock on the front right is a seed rock)
