Seans 75 gallon Moneypit!

Definite improvement. How are you liking the gyre?

Thank you sir. I'll have to figure out how to make the damn colors look correct in the pics. That Red Planet is stunning in person....

The gyre is nice....not mind blowing, but very effective and gentle flow. I am looking forward to the box that will allow it to be connected to my reef angel. I feel like it will make this pump take a dramatic leap forward in usablity. The amount of flow is stunning and very gentle. I can put a piece right in the line of fire and it doesn't suffer one bit.

So for now, the verdict IMO, is that it's a nice pump. Worth 300 USD? Nope, but that may change once the updated controller is brought into the mix. I feel like as it currently stands, that money would've been better spent on another vortech. BUT, the combo of the 2 has been effective.

Hey buddy.

You need to work on the camera's white balance. What is your camera model number?

It's a cannon PowerShot. It's a p&s but capable of full manual operation, which is how I took the above shots. What are you thinking here?

Which Powershot model is it? There are at least 4-5 current models. I'm going to try and get you to adjust the white balance so that we can see better pics. :lmao:

Have you tried changing the White Balance?

I'll have to get that to you after work when I get home. I was adjusting all kinds of junk...twist some knobs, take a pic, twist a knob. Is is better or worse? Twist again, etc....probably pretty funny to watch lol

Have a look at the link below. It contains various pages of the manual which talks about setting a custom white balance etc.

See if you can change the white balance settings. Take a photo after each change and note the effect. Does the image of the tank/corals appear less blue? If so, continue in this fashion until you've worked out which setting most accurately represents what you see in person.

I busted out the manual last night after everyone went to bed and played with this. The lights were off in the tank but I'll try some more pics this weekend. I'll also post some history of the tank, some changes that were made and why.

I've heard some use a white plate in the tank to set white balance. Does that sound reasonable?

You can use any white plastic or other suitable material. - So long as the white balance is sorted, thats great. :)

Been doing lots of practice. This is just a shot of the camera display. I'll try to edit some up and post tonight or tomorrow. Still not what I see with eyes, but much better!

I'm pretty happy with these. Let me know how they look!

Well done buddy! Great work seriously! Loving the camera work. :D

Corals have very nice colours.

Thanks sahin. It's still not quite as vivid as real life, but it's certainly the closest yet. I'll take it over the garbage that I first posted. [emoji106]

These corals? They won't arrive till next week. Started my own business a few month back and I have been SLAMMED!!!

OK, cool. Good luck with the business. Post some photos up once you've placed the frags on the rockwork.

I will! I also ended up switching to a calcium reactor with a masterflex pump. The thread is due for an update here soon"¦
