Seans 75 gallon Moneypit!

Here's a quick pic of the calrx setup that replaced 2 part dosing with litermeters.

Geo 612 reactor with reborn media
Cole Parmer masterflex brushless feed pump
Carbon Doser co2 regulator

I thought alk was stable with the lm3 dosing 150x a day, but this takes it to another level. The combo of the peri feed pump and electronic regulator makes this thing so steady it's unreal. It wasn't cheap to get it going but the tank has responded EXTREMELY well. Alk demand has skyrocketed and coloration has dramatically improved IMO

Will post another round of pics a few weeks after the new frags arrive. Thanks for reading!

I was able to get all of the gear used for a ridiculous price. New it would've been over 2 grand, but after everything including the ph controller I'm only in for 600 usd. Plus, I can upgrade with this gear without having to purchase again. I liked it so much I ended up buying a new geo to replace the used one with. Now, I have a backup, or another calrx to use on a frag tank. Plus I'm keeping the litermeters with future plans of adding kalkwasser to the tank with the litermeter3

Frags came in healthy but some a little brown. Will post some pics once they color back up some more. Here's a quickie iPhone fts

Beautiful tank!

Did you end up stocking the full list of fish you mentioned at the start of the post? I'm getting a similar size tank up and running and am pulling a similar list together.

Thanks! That was my current stock at the time. I've added a one spot foxface as well. I'm done at this point adding fish. It's pretty packed.

I'll try to snap some pics during the next water change. The new stuff is settling in nicely

Seans 75 gallon Moneypit!

Your corals are looking very healthy and vibrant Sean! Excellent work

Means a lot coming from you! Thanks!

All except that damn rr pinky. That piece hasn't done anything except encrust a tiny bit in 6 months. I've dipped it cause it looked "buggy" and was totally clean. Just trying to be patient and let it work through the dormancy. It'll be worth the wait if it comes around for me..

I just looked up the RR Pinky, wow what a beautiful coral! It seems in a tank, there's always one or two that we'd like to improve on. I've had a Pearlberry frag not grow or color up at all. I think maybe I stressed it out too much in my QT, who knows. Best of luck with that piece though, tons of potential there.

It's a looker isn't it?!

Hopefully it'll come around. It just has never done much but still slowly encrusts, so I keep in there in hopes she comes alive at some point...

That piece and the last echinata frag I got are about the only 2 that have gone dormant on me. I've been very fortunate. The SC orange passion is still small, and tough to photograph so I didn't include it, but, like all tenius in this tank, is growing like a fricken weed. REALLY looking forward to seeing it in 6 months. It's one of the nicest tenius IMO.

Most things have really gone nuts since I made the switch to a calrx. Colors are better too IMO

Wow buddy, as I said on FB, the coral colours look great. Did the colours really improve noticeably since switching to a calcium reactor? How long did it take? Which brand of two part or you using previously?
