SeanT 's 300 gallon Cube-esque project.

Wow Mike,
Long time no see...this is your first post in like 3 years lol.
PM me your Cell # buddy.
Sean

Yeah, I posted over at TRT for the first time since I registered 4 years ago :) Getting back in the reefing game...

My father-in-law came over today.

Here is a little MS Paint sketch of a top down view of the stand he will build Tuesday.

Please LMK if you see any flaws.
There is more going into it but these are the major components.

Thanks,
Sean

Sean, just make sure the load is properly transferred and not just relying on the shear strength of the fasteners.

I researched and and found out about the lumber...yay SEARCH ENGINE lol :)

Steve, would you expand on that please.
I am not sure what you mean.

Thanks,
Sean

I think he means having the 2x6's resting on the 4x4's instead of relying completely on the shear strength of the fasteners to hold the weight of the tank.

With the amount of holes in the bottom of my tank, for the closed loop, I will have to make some adjustments to that stand's design but I think I can make it work.
I will show my father-in-law the link.

Thanks Jonathan :),

Stand build starts tomorrow morning at 8:30.
I tried to draw one up, but I MS Paint is too limited and it takes too long for me with Google's Sketchbook.

I am going to use Kannin's style of stand which Jonathan so kindly posted (Thank you :)).

However, the 4x4's I will be using are treated, the rest of the lumber is not.

Sean

Oops.

Forgot to say that it is a Tunze Master Recirculating pump with an Oceans Motions 8 way atop of it.

That thing is awesome! Cant wait to see you plumb it in......looks like a heckuva project there!

Thanks. :)

I am about 85% of the way finished with the stand.

Not including priming and painting of course.
I may hang the doors tomorrow...getting tired lol.
