SeanT 's 300 gallon Cube-esque project.

two insane person get together trying to figure some crazy stuff :D. Looking great Sean. I will pick up my 3 shelve piece from them by the end of the month for my long bridge. How much do they weighed all together?

I'm contemplating setting up a very similar tank (only peninsula style). What are you planning for lights and how thick are you making the acrylic

The acrylic is 1" thick.
As for lighting I am going with T5's.
I haven't decided on which company yet but leaning towards ATI.

Sean, as far as that paint... it was going to be on the bottom OUTSIDE lol. So the inside would be smooth, and the paint would be outside, never touching water, or turning coralife/live green.

I have always been curious about the definition of peninsulahere.
Does the "RC" def just mean the overflow is at the end of a long tank?

I see a lot of "peninsula" labeled tanks that just look like tanks with a lot of rock...no islands with bridges connecting them.

I thought that may have been what you meant.

Are you sure that would work, with it on the outside and at that angle it may still look like glass.

Defintely worth a shot though. :)

Roger is cool but won't get himself into any liability situations. The better person to talk to about it would be Paul at OM. :D

I just purchased 4 tubs of Korallen Zucht Speed Glue and some acrylic rods for my rockwork.

I am SO close to buying a Profilux package system, and I will, but first I need to address 3 other, more important needs.

1. Paying off the tank, I have that covered after this weekend. :)

2. New lighting for the tank, I am leaning so far towards ATI, I think I might fall over, and they aren't cheap.

3. A new Chiller for this system. My 1hp PCI works good but I want either something weatherproof I can plumb outside or a Peltier system that can stay in the garage and not add 4,000% humidity like my current chiller does.

I start rock "cooking" Tuesday. I like that believe it or not. :)

Sound like you need to sell more beers and get more tips for the light and chiller. I had my Speedglue ordered last week, hopefully i will get it soon.

I'm shakin' it as fast as I can for that money. :D

I am thinking about putting check valves on each of my Closed Loop returns.
This way if I power it off nothing will be able to go down the tubes that far.

Sean, i think that is not a good idea. IMO

Check valve = back pressure = head loss = less gph. Not to mention the check valve will go bad on you

Ball valve at each outlet is all you need bro. When your power is off, nothing will go down the tube or coming out the tube....

Yeah, probably right...sounded good in my head though. :)

I think I have decided on going with 3, 6x54 watt ATI fixtures.
Only 18 bulbs instead of the 20 I was planning...but I hope it will be ok.

May leave me a little room to hang some LED's for shimmer and for night viewing and moonlight. :D

Were you drunk when you take the picture Terry? I got dizzy when i look at the picture.

Sean, 3 pendant of 6x54w sound good.

Picture looks clear to me, Steve. You must have been high on your NyQuil when looking at my pic :D

J/K! My photography skills suck! :p

I sure did...that's why I decided to downgrade my fixture choices fro a total of 20 bulbs to a total of 18 bulbs.
It helped a lot...thank you. :)
