So what are you going to do with your old tank?
It is being recycled...as my sump. :)

Now my current sump, a 125, I have no idea lol.

125 is a bit big for either. Dont have that much room.
I have a 20L and a 5 gallon for QT and medications.
I don't have plans for a frag growout at this time.
Unless I can get a custom acrylic tank about 24" x 16" x 8" I doubt I will.

man, just go retro and build it into the headboard. I had one like that when I was in college, and aside from the occassional cuncussion it was great.

Tank in the bedroom is a bad idea: Please read below :D

Got it from the Reefkeeping Mag. Some may not applicable to QT but some do

 I remember that one! I loved my headboard tank and so did my cat. Had one of those old glass heaters that would flash orange half the night. Lots of entertainment for the cat.

Received the last of my plumbing in yesterday...hopefully the last. :)

I have made a decision on my lighting...yay.

I am going to now ask you big tank brains to help, show me, diagrams for building a stand.

My father in law will build it, he is a carpenter, but I need ideas to show him, 60" long, 48: wide...lets see some ideas people.

The back of the stand will be about 3 feet from the wall.
The plumbing goes through that wall into the garage.

Sean - here's a stand that's not as commonly seen. I like how it has a wide base, so it makes it look like your tank is sitting on a tabletop, and not a stand. Not only do I think it looks nice, but it can be functional, too. if built strong enough, you could walk around the edge of the tank, which should make maintenance much easier.

That is (Insert Peter Griffin voice here) "Freakin' Sweet!"

Do you have the plans for such a stand?

Thats how i had my stand for my 60g cube made. I didnt like how it looked like a tank was just on a stand, as you normall see. I have a 4-6" lip all the way around it.
