lol... heads are over rated! :P

Looks great! Your fish look like they are loving the space!

When are you going to get your lights setup?

Yes they are NG, the only fish not so happy is the royal gramma. But the last move I made she sulked for 3 days so it's not surprising.

Long story short, it was supposed be here already but it's backordered:mad2:

Arrrrgggghhhh sometimes I hate my computer but anyways, I was just noticing and could I ask a stupid question??

Your Background?? are you planning on one or in your over-excitement did you totally forget about it? It seems like its just bare glass........

Hey there sfilingeri, no question is stupid...that is unless it's me asking it:rolleyes:

I left my 46 bow bare glass too, it took about 6 months but the whole back glass was covered with pink and purple coralline. If one is patient enough, that is a very natural looking background and blocks out everything behind the tank.

Oh yes and about computers, I worked for a computer manufacturer for about 4 years. With everything that can go wrong with hardware and the millions of lines of code in todays operating software, it is a wonder we can use a computer for more than a few minutes at a time without it crashing :hammer:

Like I said, if you have patience:) , when I finally get my light system; all cords will be coming out of the rear corner, thus there will be no cords showing. Makes waiting a little easier for me:)

I think about a gallon and a half a day....ouch when it's city water! My 46 was about a half gallon a day.

I also have a dehumidifier running in the outlet closet, not sure if that causes more evaporation or not. Without it though it felt like a rain forest with the high humidity.

 RAINFOREST??

Thats one of the biggest things holding me back fom jumping into a bigger tank, making sure I always have enough ro/di water ready...............

Are you planning on any kind of top off? or dripping limewater? You seem to have plenty of room around you tank for some new goodies??!! And if you had to you could always convert those bookshelfs........."but honey I REALLY needed this gizmo for the tank...................."

Have you noticed any problems with the evap and humidity? Mold and those types of problems was something I was worried about with a large tank. I know some people vent and all, but I didn't know if that was needed for a 180 or just the really large custom built tanks.

I would imagine, and Im not smart by any standards, that in the summer having the a/c on would take care of most of that and in the winter having it probably wouldnt hurt to bad since the air is usually drier in the winter months due to the heat.....

WOW, RC is a bit slow tonight. NG, I was worried about a moisture problem but with the dehumidifier running I am no longer worried. If I have to I can install a fan to the outside with little to no problem.

sfilingeri, I have a line running from my RODI unit to a float valve in my sump, keeping a constant water level. I installed a TDS meter to keep an eye on the status of my filters.

Humidity is not a big problem for us in the basement, we have AC but not piped to the basement. The air return is in the first level hallway so there is really not much air coming up from downstairs to make a deference. But with the evaporation of about 1 1/2 gallons a day it seems to settle in the basement, thus the dehumidifier.

I did make a purchase tonight from Saltwaterfish.zzz, I bought a blue hippo Tang and a Powder Brown Tang also a white anemone crab to go with one of the2 Bta's I will be picking up Wednesday.

Good Luck on your Tangs.....................I had a PB Tang before he got to big for my tank and I loved him to death, was my absolute favorite. And full of personality also, but hw WAS the king of the tank though and no fish were able to come after him....

In Fact he didnt even like my glass scraper, he would smack that thing with his tail like crazy but it was so funny to watch, he even would take food from my hand.................ahh the memories

So how has your water parameters been? Since moving live rock and such, did you notice any Ammonia or Nitrates spikes at all?

Tangs alot sfilingeri:lol: Sorry couldn't help it, I hope they do well with the others in my tank. The Powder brown Tang is a very awesome fish.

It would have been cool to see yours.

Hey there 2farNorth,
I had about .05 ammonia the first day after adding live rock that was in a rubber maid container for about 2 weeks. Needless to say there was some die off, but with heavy skimming and the addition of live sand and Live rock from my other tanks the ammonia went down to 0, with 0 nitrites and 0 nitrates. However with testing tonight I noticed the ph fell from 8.4 to 8.0 so I put in an additive to help bring it up.

I really need to get the calcium reactor out of the 46 and so tomorrow the 46 is getting broken down and the corals moved to the 180.
The problem with that is I don't have the new light yet...still backordered:mad2: So I will have to use the 36" outer orbit with 150 mh to one side over the corals. and 110watt 36"PC on the other side.

It seems that I am not the only one ordering a outer orbit pro 72" light:mad2: what a big bummer:(
