The fish are so active it's so hard to get a good picture, I got my calcium reactor setup and running, hopefully the sps corals will start to flourish. I tested the water tonight, ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, nitrate 0. The live rock and Live sand really did the trick!

The anemone crab took to the larger GBTA, which is located behind the RBTA, and the 3 spot domino has started hosting the GBTA, right in front of the clowns! The clowns had previously hosted the hammer coral in the 46 and now seem uninterested in hosting the BTA'S:(

They are all eating like like crazy! After about 30 minutes after eating they start begging for more:eek1:

Well Now I need all of your advice, is the middle of the tank too bare?

Woohooo!! The tank is looking great. I love the open look. Your PBT looks soooo cute in such a big tank with your hippo lol!

Did you get your new lights?

Looking great could I ask about the Aptasia? I have a symier problem you Joes jucie see them gone? I have tried but I guess the spors are in the water coloum and just reseed after about 2 weeks? What control do you have for them.

Wow!! Moving right along!!

I like the look of the open middle,, That's kinda what I've been going for in my 120,, (of course you actually have ROOM to do it!!)

Thank you NanoGurl, I was worried about the open look but after watching the feeding and swimming I now agree with you. Cute is right! She is the star of the tank, loves to parade in front in clear view but will not sit still for a decent picture.

Lights...oh yea the thing I ordered 3 weeks ago, now is going to be delivered tomorrow....Should I hold my breath?:mad2:

I am very happy how the tank turned out, I thank you again NG for your motivation, confidence and support.

Thank you matthew5664, I have 2 peppermint shrimp that were supposed to take care of them for me, but they don't seem to be doing a good job. One of the shrimps has molted so it must be eating something:)

If after 3 weeks or so I don't notice a difference I am going to try Joe's Juice and see if that helps.

Thank you very much 2farNorth, I am almost done. I just need to finish the front, I have all of the materials and should have it done this weekend!

Thanks for your opinion about the open middle, it seems that all the larger tank of the months all have the whole tank filled up with live rock and tons of corals on top of that.

Not that I am even close to or deserving of tank of the month, but I really like the way all the inhabitants come out to eat with most of them meeting in the open middle.

I would also like to thank you 2farNorth for your comments, questions and advice. I really enjoy your honesty in all your comments.

Wow what a weekend! I hope everyone who reads this had a great weekend as well.
I finally got my light:rollface: and have almost finished the facade around the tank.

So far everything is doing well, all inhabitants are eating like crazy, must want to get bigger...so they can get a bigger tank:rolleyes: I don't think so....not yet:lol:

I will have updated pictures tomorrow, It got to late and I didn't have time to stop for pictures...very busy!

My wife wants to add something more, she says something is missing...who am I to disagree? I mentioned a red open brain or a plate coral, but she wasn't impressed.

Does this tank really need anything else...besides removal of the blasted aptasia population that is?

Good to hear that you finally got your lights

If the misses wants livestock, GET IT! What a perfect excuse to add a little more, no complaints, ahhh heaven :D

Looking forward to the update pics :)

I think the tank is looking great! You'll probably want more LR eventually... only bc you're going to run out of space to put corals... and you'll always want more! Open brains are really cool I would get one!

How do you like the new lights?

You know it Chris! But now she is not sure as to what she wants:rolleyes: I gave my suggestions and all were nixed:mad:

I am going to post pics as soon as I get the doors to the facade done...hopefully by this weekend.

Thank you NG, more rock=more coral=more rock=more coral....seems like an infinite loop:lol: Honestly though I have been thinking it's pretty sparse in there...I would really like a red open brain but my wife not so much:(

The light is super bright and the corals love it and when to halides turn off the T5 actinics are impressive as well. The blue moon lights are sweet and the white moon lights keep the fish happy as well :D

The fan is not even heard because of the pumps hum, the light housing gets hot, so I am going to get a better fan to blow across the top.

The only thing that is not doing well is the xenia on the left side, It has slowly died, but the stalks lower and behind are doing well.
The Bta's are playing hide and seek, but eat like feeder pigs:lol:

Nice tank keep the pics coming....

Thanks NO1B4ME202, I have two pics for tonight... here you go:)

Picture024.jpg

Picture023.jpg

I only have the top board to install left and then the
facade is finished, then my wife would like to paint it.

The sand bed has been developing a green algae bloom,
the tangs and lawnmower blenny have been picking at
it but can't keep up. I may have to get more snails or
update my cleanup crew to match the tank size.

I had a heat problem but during the day I open all the
facade doors and place a box fan to blow across the sump.
Temps been holding around 80.5 to 81.5. I would like to
keep the temp between 79.5 to 80.5 so I am going to play
around with fans at different positions first, if that fails
I might have to get a chiller.

Sorry for the delay in updates, but really not that much to update anyway. But here are some pics nonetheless:)

Picture of BTA'S this morning.

The algae in the sand bed is a new one for me,
I didn't have it in my 46 or in my sons 20.
The tangs have stopped picking at it, so I'm not sure as
to what will eat it.

I am going to order a fire shrimp, sand sifting star and some more snails from Saltwaterfish. Hopefully something will start to take
a liking to eating that algae.
