Sexiest piece of SPS?

Watch out, Green star polyps will overgrow and kill any coral!

One positive thought about GSP is you can remove it very easily. It can be out as a sheet -- you just peel it out from the rock.

OOp-- I was a few minutes late, sending out this comment.

i have seen far worse. yours looks like an accurate actinic pic and everybody cheats unless they're using real sunlight

Yeah! I am wondering what is the standard lighting for taking pictures? I thought everybody has his/her own taste. Looks like most people cheat?!!:uzi:

In fact, a month ago when I was visiting my LFS, a customer pointed out that the store owner was using 20K bulbs and he was cheating...... since then I was wondering about his statement....

It seems to me that the standard lighting is what ever makes the coral pop for the photo. But you can also use camera settings to manipulate piece.

Oregon blue tort with same lighting different camera settings under a single 400 watt radium:

Be careful with those Rainbow milli/prostratas. When the polyps come out all the rainbow colors on the skin get covered. Focus on the color of the tips, coralites, & polyps for the different or contrasting colors. I'd suggest buying one locally in person.

I second a Paletta pink tip nomination---

Don't know about sexy, but the A. granulosa has a sweet candy like appearance

Justin, I just got an insanely gorgeous Granulosa that looks very similar to yours...the Ice Age Granulosa from Jared at Rocky Mountain Frags. I am just crossing my fingers that I can get it to hold the gorgeous colors it has.

I think a lot of the sps that have a beautifully delicate growing structure that are coming in right now, similar to the Red Dragon, are super sexy ;).

Well, I stand corrected. That photo was taken with all 6 of my lights on, this is without the additional 3 blue/purple bulbs:

This guy is local to me and sells frags on Ebay. I have gotten a cpl frags from him in the past. Always liked this one but it went for big bucks.

I would just like to go on the record and say I have never found my self sexually attracted to anything that resides in my tank, nor of any different species.

With that said I can't think of any single piece that I would prize above all the rest. Maybe Mark's rainbow "efflo".

:eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1::eek1: Where can one find a frag of that?

Wow gorgeous picture and good choice for a must have coral. I LOVE efflos. I have a few I am making a go of. I seem to have a bit of trouble getting them to grow and color up. I love the way he has it positioned on a single rock to grow out in a table on all sides. I am hoping to get that growth pattern going on one of mine so I perched it on top of a single rock with hopes that it will take off and color up as it grows.

This second photo is even better :spin1:. We'll see how it goes, so far my named granulosa is doing well but I have plenty of no namers because I like them. I only get named corals I fall in love with!! Your little gem is most definitely worth falling in love with :lol2:.

I like it when you get a run of the mill $10-$20 coral frag and it morphs into something more, like this reverse sunset
file.php

file.php

or when a coral is almost dead and comes back better then it was at first, like this sunset
file.php

file.php

what the sunset originally looked like
file.php

or when you get a free frag from someones no name wild colony and it turns out like this
