Shallow reef tank Club

yeah, sorry about that. I use the gel type, it holds on much better and you can create a little collar around the base of the coral to give it some stability as it latches on.

OK...
I have sand in the tank.
I just got the tank filled with SW.
I put a few pieces of live rock in.
I added my "new to me" ASM-G3 recirculating skimmer
I built my light rack ( no lights yet)

No major problems ....yet

Thanks for looking

Nice size. Lots of sand.

What kind of bin is that feeding your sump. The black one that looks to have a molded spillway. Very cool.

Its a 30 or so gallon pre-formed pond, I think most people use them to add a tier to there ponds...if i keep it (im on the fence about it..) i will be using it as a fuge. I liked that it was pre formed, and also that it had the spill way :D But it takes up a decent amount of floor space, and i just got a 55 gallon water barrel that i need to put somewhere down there.

The top tier will be softies/lps (lower flow corals), and the bottom will be high flow corals (mostly sps). T5's all the way, and that is also why the bottom does not have any substrate. Ive read about the difficulty of high flow in shallow tanks with substrate...i dont want to deal with that lol.

Here is my 48 x 30 x 12 rimless on a custom built 40" high stand....
This photo is before I got everything transfered over.
Im planning on doing all SPS..
