Front side would be worth it to me, but 3 sides would be wasted $$$, IMO. Even though I like wide tanks, the front is viewed WAY more than the sides.

I don't know man. With a cube like that you have the options to aquascape it where all sides could be a display side.

BTW, love your new tank.

I agree. I like viewing the wide tanks from all sides as well. I guess if I were to do a starphire tank, I would only starphire the front. Just my preference, unless my financial situation upgraded.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to planning & building it!

Nice tank, Frank. You definitely got a steal on the deal. ;)

Giga, your tank looks pretty sweet sitting next to each other. Love the aquascaping on the left tank. nice!

thanks the tank are still very young and not complete but it's a good start as the right tank is a mantis/mangrove tidepool'ish tank while the other is a reef crest it'll look ten times better when all the corals and such in it

Anyone have pictures of their stands? Been looking at some DIY stand plans, but they're generally made for standard tank widths up to 24"

I have a 48"x36"x16" tank and was wondering what kind of adjustments I would need to accommodate the extra width.

Planning to build a shallow reef tank and would like to get your input on dimensions of the tank and stand...

I like the tank dimensions to be at least 48" by 27", but I am not sure about the height. I know personal preference but is there an optimum or sweet spot? The 48x27 isn't set in stone and I can go up in width or length, thoughts?

Also, how tall is your stand? I don't want to have to hunch over to look through and raising it up to eye level is too high, I am over 6 feet.

Thanks...

I'm in the planning stages as well now for a shallow reeftank as I prefer the shallow look. What's funny is that the dimensions that I am considering is 36x36x18 w/Starphire glass on 3 sides and rimless. The pic above of the AGE tank is exactly what the doctor ordered!

Nice setup... So how do you like the Power Brites with the 250w halide. I take it you can see a difference with the halide on? Can you take a photo of your custom mount? I would like to get some ideas on how you have the halide and Power Brites mounted.

Thanks...
