It looks like a better version of the Marquesas morphs, but the fact it came from Marshal is pretty cool.

There have been some interesting clownfish hybrids going into Japan. Not sure where's they are going, but very unique... Not sure if you've seen that PNG Maroon Morph that was collected, but the front band is beautiful

I snagged this off of another site. I hope you dont mind Steve.

ah, the blue potters. Beautiful. I heard from a collector who caught one and kept it it started to turn back into more reddish/orange like a normal potters. The waikiki aquarium has a nice potters in their display tank it has a slightly orange face but the rest is blue and black.
I heard that the morphs like this change back too....maybe its dietary?

My guess id dietary given the rumors that these fish lose the all blue color the longer they are in captivity.

Might as well poet this beauty. Now I usually find most color morphs to be uglier. There are exceptions like the blue potters and then this guy. Maybe the only way i would consider keeping this fish. Though they turn back within 6 months to a year. Tim

Waikiki

That imperator is breathtaking. I still think that may be the most beautiful fish on the reef. Especially a big fat one with that dorsal streamer! Also there is one clam in that amazing display that is blue and has a orange stripe through it. I love that clam and I have never seen that clam anywhere else and absolutely love it. Tim

I've found contacts and they sent me pics
one just caught my eye :

I just love emps but this one isn't cheap, they sell it for 1800$

What makes you think it is a X-mas campbell? Tail is a bit orange but hard to tell. Kevin I think you need to continue searching. I can't fathom a distributor being able to stay in business selling emperors for that type of money. What distributor is it? Even 400-500 would be a bit much unless it was a full blown adult with a bright orange tail or some streamer action. Still don't understand why the orange tail is so desirable. The x-mas emperors are usually brighter, which justifies the higher cost from indos. Tim

Yes, X-Mas island, cuz of the intense orange color of the tail. At full adult, they develop deep blue/purple colors and their stripes really stand. Very beautiful fish.
But $1,800 is way overpriced. My LFS had an adult 7incher for $400.

I'd love to get an x-mas, but I already have a 6inch adult emperor from Bali/Indonesia. One of my buddies successfully keeps 2 adults emperors, but it took him 2 months of repeated separation/eggcrating, tempeorary removal, reintroduction to get them to finally get along.

The tail is very orange. It is almost red. You can tell the xmas when they are that age by the intense colors and the orange tail. You can also see some red the back of the top fin where the streamers grow.

forever with proper care and nutrition, well off course until they go to fish heaven. When raising juvi's to adults, thats when you usually don't get the really vivid colors of a wild caught specimen. That one that is pictured is the perfect size to get because it almost done changing. The larger and older the angel the more difficult it will be acclimate into captivity. Mainly because it has because accustomed to swimming on a huge reef for a longer period of time and their diet has changed from algaes and other items, to almost strictly sponge. Tim
