Show off your T5 run (non Zeovit + similar) SPS tank please

over all guys you think t5 are the best lighting if you dont care about bulbs replacement?

Definately. The best colours I have ever seen have been T5 systems. I always used to think it was Metal Halides, but after seeing a few tanks with T5's the colours were just amazing.

Here is mine (no zeovit, no GFO):

Nice. Its one SPS I dont have...does it glow orange under Blue T5's or Blue LED's?

Here is my light set up:

3 X ATI Blue plus & 3 X ATI Coral Plus & 2 X TMC Aquaray Reef Blue

This particular coral glows orange better when blue LEDs come on. However, it still looks great when the LEDs are off under T5s.

Well it was setup in 2008 after having it in storage for about 8 yrs. I moved around a lot and finally put down my roots and always planned on setting it up again.

As for the equipment, I have two mp40w Vortechs (I like a lot of flow even for this 58 gal), a SWC cone skimmer, Bubble Magus doser filled with BRS calcium and alk (I don't dose Mag-do water changes instead), & an ATI 36" 6 bulb Sunpower system. This is all hooked up thru a Digital Aquatics Reefkeeper Lite. I also have a 20 gal sump underneath. I have a top off system that is plummed thru the wall directly behind the tank that holds about 12 gallons of freshwater. Recently I added a Jebao 25 powerhead that I really like a lot.

For the lighting combo, from back to front is:

ATI BLUE +
ATI AQUA BLUE SPECIAL
KZ FIJI PURPLE
ATI BLUE +
ATI CORAL +
ATI BLUE +

I also have a 24" blue Reefbrite led strip in front of the existing fixture. I have tried many many combo configurations and always come back to this one. Its more of a 15-20k look to my eyes.

Thanks for the compliments.

Thanks for the info. What does your filtration consist of?
-GAC?
-GFO?
-BioPellets/Vodka/Vinegar etc?
-Refugium?

Many thanks.

The filtration consists of a simple 20 gal sump. I used to use GFO but was having issues with pale sps colors. I took my GFO BRS reactor offline for several weeks now and noticed the colors are more vibrant. I was thinking the water was too clean. I really don't have much of an algae problem. When some does pop up I try to just use hermits/snails. I even tried just using about 1/2 a cup of GFO and could still tell...to some degree. So for the past 9 months, I've just been doing 12 gal water changes every month of Instant Ocean mix.

Here is one more.

I have 2 clowns, 1 regal tang, royal gramma, striped possum wrasse, 1 blue chromis(have lost 3 over the last 6 months), and 2 lyretail anthias. When I was having the poor colors I felt I needed more fish poo hence the heavy fish load. I also try to feed a good amount with a series of flakes, mysis, and cyclopeez. When I remember I treat the corals to Reef Frenzy.
