Not an SPS, but my wife and I both love dendros :)

We also got a frag of strawberry shortcake, yellow suharsonoi, and red planet at Living Reef today. Will be picking those up next week or so to let them heal.

How is gyre working out in the shallow tank? One I have on 180 has cable routed through the back of the stand so it's a bit of a pain to move to try on the frag tank. I was thinking about getting 70w version when it comes out perhaps and moving 50w to the frag tank.

That was quick to get corals ;P But I don't think I waited long for mine either hehe, rock was still white when I had 30+ frags in the tank.

Not sure if you are interested but I believe I read that CoralVue is supposed to be getting some longer cables for the Gyre. Hopefully they will be more suitable to your setup. I will definitely pick up the 50w for my frag tank when it comes available. Can't wait to get rid of the jebao garbage in there.

Yeah, I'm definitely spoiled by Tunze cables. I wonder if ebay would have something like that to extend them, I'm pretty sure this 3 prong style is not special to just the gyre.

Guess you mean 35w version, my frag tank is 2 feet wide so I think 50w would work better there.

Here is the link to the extension cable reference. I would contact Jeremy or Carlos at Coralvue and see if it will be long enough to suit your needs. Yes I meant 35w. :-)

Edit: Scratch that. I guess yet another RC rule prohibits linking of information if said info is on another forum. Anyways, CoralVue should have some cables this week.

It's perfect for my tank! Im running it at 50% right now. I'm going to run both the mp40 and the gyre around 30-40%.

I think the 70W would be better for your 180! But if I were you, I'd do two 50W on the 180 and run them at 50%!

Yeah I think running two of them opposite and alternating would be the best.

Wow, who did you order that from?

Just ordered our first fish from LiveAquaria Divers Den!

We got a pair of hybrid cleaner gobies, carribean black cap basslet, Midas blenny, and tailspot blenny! They will arrive on Saturday!!

Decided to add one more marinepure block!

Right now, there's about 35lbs of real reef live rock and tonga branches and x2 marinepure 8x8x4 blocks.

Finally installed our reefbrite LED!

We're also thinking about getting a CeramEco bonsai/T-shaped structure to go in the back of the tonga branches.
