Single LED unit for Red Sea Reefer 170?

What would be the best single-unit LED for a Reefer 170. 24 x 20 are tank dimensions?

Would one AI Prime be enough? One Hydra 26?

I don't want a Kessill.

Any ideas?

Mostly LPS and zoas. Some encrusting SPS. Budget $400 or less. And I just want one unit.

There are multiple "black box" units in that range. You could also get a used Radion or GHL Mitras in that price range if you are patient. Just depends on what features/gimmicks you want in a light.

(I don't say gimmick in a negative way. There are features on lights that have zero effect on the corals health. Such as cloud cover, lightning and other gimmicks.)

I'm running the Hydra 26HD. I absolutely love it. While its enough for now, I'll need to add a second one later when my corals continue to grow bigger. Though, I'm also completely SPS dominant.

As explained on another recent thread for the exact same situation, Hydra 26HD would be your absolute best bet. AI Prime is a great light and is essentially just one puck of the two in the H26. While that's great and all, the Prime won't get the same PAR coverage. The Prime will reach 30-50 PAR around 23" where as the Hydra 26HD will hit 100-130 PAR at the exact same distance hung from the same height.

Also, if you do end up running the H26, send me a PM. A few other guys and I are running a mock Ecotech Marine SPS AB+ profile which is working insanely well. My Alk is dropping like crazy and am actually going to have to already add a doser to my Reefer 170!

FWIW, here are some pictures.
