Smallest Goldenback Triggers Collected?

Hey everyone,

I'm curious what's the smallest Goldenback Trigger (Xanthichthys caeruleolineatus) reportedly collected is?

One collector is saying that he's finding smaller fish, but hasn't really said a size.

Another collector is saying 9" is the smallest he's seen and smaller ones might live MUCH deeper than normal collection depths.

Just curious what everyone has heard. I'd like to add one of these to our tank, but not really interested in starting with a 9" fish.

Thanks!

Yeah other collector says his smalls are 9".

Maybe like with small male Crosshatches, smaller Goldenbacks will be found down the line...

Have you kept one Ted?

Would really love to find one a bit smaller, and really don't mind waiting :D

Yeah, have had them...they are a great trig but get huge and the small ones are almost impossible to collect as they are so deep but they do appear...call r for that, lol, might be a waiting list!

Do they get larger than Crosshatches?

One of my favorite fish, but I know almost nothing about them, I'd think they'd be fine in a 10' tank, also I think thereefcorner has a WYSIWYG one for sale right now.

mine was okay in a 10 ft tank but they are a foot long and can easily cover the distance...they also don't really swim in caves and explore, they like deep open water...

Hmmm that's interesting. So are they always out and about?

How large do you think Crosshatches top out?
