Sonicboom's 180 build in Tampa

Hah, finny you say that, I picked up a cheap power head and its now spinning my chaeto and keeping detritus in the skimmer. The last few days I can barely get any skimmate.

So I am glad to say that my MR1 monster Kalk stirrer experiment was a success. I now have a dual chamber pressurized Kalk stirrer, it holds about 2 cups of slurry right now but can probably go as high as 5 cups.

Sweet work! Should make dosing a little less painful!

Replacing my 5 gallon round jug for this 7 gallon rectangle roto mold, should make topping off easier to fill and manage.

Looking good, barely fits is right!

yea i neglected to include the cooling coils in the back of the fridge but once i level the container i will be able to close the door, luckily i don't have to worry about it until April when it starts heating up around here...LOL

Thanks for asking!, here is one this morning, there were some rock work changes and power head repositioning. Lights are at about 10%.

lol yea it's pretty crazy but i should receive the replacement pucks tomorrow to replace the Royal blues which are out on all the other lights.

Thanks reefjunkie!, well to be honest it is a good idea putting the flush kit, hi/low pressure switches and pump in a nice case. My water went from about 3:1 to 1:1 but the pump never cut off, i worked with the RO manufacturer as well as SmartBuddie support and the hi pressure switch never cut the pump off. I sent it back under RMA for them to send me another. I did crack it open and look at the internals and everything looked top notch.

Thanks for the info, I've been looking into getting one as my water pressure is low. With the added features it seemed like the way to go. It's great to hear from someone who's had one.

Just a little update for reefjunkie86 or anyone else looking at the Smart Buddie booster pump. I received my SmartBuddie booster pump back from Aquatic Life and their tech support found nothing wrong with it, they even sent a video of it shutting off once the float was raised. That being said it worked fine for me as long as i don't have it plumbed to a separate RO tank for drinking water, I'm guessing Aquatic Life didn't fully R&D with different system setups since they could not help me get it working correctly other than eliminating the drinking water tank. Their other suggestion was to set it on a timer to run daily for an hour... Lame. so if you have a dedicated RO/DI it should work fine.

A few other updates:

Lighting: all but one Royal Blue LED stopped working on all 3 AI Hydras, luckily their awesome customer service sent me replacement mother boards and LED pucks to pretty much make my lights brand new. I am also upgrading to 1 Hydra 52 and 1 additional Hydra 26 so I will be running a hydra 26 in front of each overflow and a hydra 52 in the middle.

I am experimenting with using this ridiculous strength chemical to bleach rocks and kill Aptasia, it's called Coca-Cola..LOL and boy does it work!

I received a free GBTA from someone not able to care for it any longer, it has since split and i was able to "persuade" my clowns to leave the top of the waterline next to the overflow to host it.

After helping Reefwhatyousow with his plumbing and seeing his rockwall, I plan on pretty much copying his, not gonna lie...lol Yesterday i made version 1.0 and failed. version 1.1 won't be placed on cardboard and allow the foam to stick to it. I will also mix A crap ton more sand with the foam so when i place it in water to soak every bit of sand doesn't just fall off...lol

Does that count as Sugar dosing as well? Coca Cola is, what, about 6000% saturated sugar/corn syrup by weight? Secondary benefit of stimulating bacteria and reducing nitrates! :)

'Bear

Lol I'm pretty sure it does! Luckily the acidic content of it and lime juice pretty much melts everything.. Lol, and
Your skin doesn't melt..lol
