Alright I don't have nearly enough time to read through this thread right now so just wanted to ask a few questions... Did you build this yourself? And how much was that reefmasters 2 digital thermometer on the front of your stand?

Tank looks amazing by the way!!

Welcome to RC!

The tank comes from www.glasscages.com

The stand was built by www.sawoodworks.com

I did design every single aspect of this set up

And its a digital thermometer on crack!! Its a reef keeper 2 aqua controller made by Digital Aquatics (www.digitalaquatics.com).

Hope this helps.

Thanks TRITON, hopefully i can start stocking soon..

I am considering buying this tank. Could you take a full tank shot from the 2 sides so I could see it how it looks setting on the stand. I really like how you have smaller/tall islands in the tank at different depths. I love the look and would like a similar set up but I want to see how a FTS looks.

Let me find a good picture..

Well, the first casualty.. my blue linkia star :(

It did perfectly fine for a couple of weeks..I did a water change this past week, and made the mistake of going from 1.025 to 1.022...FAST!... After that moronic water change, i noticed my linkia falling apart little by little, until last night, i noticed it was curled up in a corner.. sucks..

Radioheadx14,

Hope these pictures help. I love the size and dimensions of this tank. There is a lot of room to work around..

Yep got to watch those linkias they will be the first ones to tell you when something goes wrong sorry for your lose. Your tank is really coming along though lookin good.

I really like that look. That may have made my decision to get one of those tanks. I love the way you can make 3d aqua-scapes. I want to get rid of the live rock mound in my Solana and upgrade to this tank.

Do you think a single 20" 150w MH HQI Sunpod would light the whole tank? I plan on having lower light corals like zoas, rics, and LPS in the middle of the tank. So as long as the outside area of the tank is lit I would be happy.. even though I don't plan on growing stuff on the outside. That would be great if it lit the whole tank so then I wouldn't have to upgrade my light.

Thanks!..the real reason why i got this tank was so i could see it from the top.. Ill snap some top down pics tomorrow :D

I think the single fixture will be ok for zoas, rics and LPS's..

Hey clown have you thought about adding in a LED light in one of those spot lights you have above and use it as a super neat moon light?

The closer I get too finding out information on what to purpose it seems the further away I get from completing my tank . Not too mention you have an ideal spot where you put your tank .

When you picked up your tank ( they have those shows ) is it just someone at the show with a truck and they help load it into the back of your truck / suv or do you have too do it yourself . and how many people did it take too carry it inside.

If you want SPS you would probably have to go with a 400w if you wanted to do single and keep the rock work mostly in the middle with softies out too the side .

250 would work also as long as you are using something around 10k in color . ( unless i buy the XR4 I am going with a 20k bulb so I will need 400w most likely )

Well, i met them in houston at some truck stop. All i did was pick up my tank and load in my car..

It was actually my gf's car...a Beetle.. we made it fit somehow..LOL

You could go with a single lumenarc with a 20K on a shallow tank and do SPS. That's what I have for my prop tank. It's 3'x3'x12".

Very nice tank and clean looking.

Well, my hawkfish committed suicide...its been a sad sad week so far.. :(

aw yeah right. Thats always a downer. Is there anything in the tank that could have scared him? Was your water level really high when it happened? I lost 2 b/w clown because I had my water level really high and havent lost any fish since after lowering it.

Well, i did notice him hanging on one of the nozzles.. Im guessing the tangs scared him away. They take over the whole tank and are very active..

Ive read hawkfish need a tank with a lid..

oh well... he shall be flushed down..

Thats what happens when you show off in front of your friends and try to make it to the table , last famous words "I got this guys im golden" - powder tangs "Go timmy go! Freedom's right around the cor- ohhhh shiiiiiiiii"

I didnt know hawkfish were jumpers? I never had one but I thought that was mostly dart fish that liked ending their lives early.

Sorry you lost your fishy .

that sucks, I have 3 hawkfish and they are the best! I've lost too many fish in the past to go 100% rimless anymore. It seems sooner or later they all jump, even the ones that people say never jump, although I was told from the beginning by the LFS that hawkfish can and will jump. I would get a screen top for the tank, and you can always remove it whenever you want to look at your tank or have friends over. There's no reason to make the tank look nice when no one is looking at it anyways.
