SPS tank from England 156 us gallons

A big thanks to all of you for your posts and kind words.

Phwoar. That is a tasty tank. I really like the spacing you've given each coral and the growth they're showing. Lovely combination of different species (is that LPS a Micromussa? It's gorgeous and enormous!) and restrained but effective fish stocking.

Great to see a UK reefer on RC as well (I'm based in Japan, but from the UK).

Good work sir!

Yep that is a micromussa, it eats none stop - feeding polyps are out catching any flake/frozen that it can. It has put on a good bit of size since I've had it and coloured up well too.

Thanks again,

Tony

Thanks Tony. I have what I thought was a Micromussa, but it doesn't look anything like that. Seen a couple out here that do look like that though. You've inspired me to consider investing in one at some point. ;)

Great colors I like the aquascaping its different in a good way. I tend to see people going crazy with too much rock, nice to see a new look to aquascaping. What test do you use for your iodine? What product do you use?

I got heavy handed about 6 months ago lets put it this way my neon greens tuned olive, my blues went to almost brown, not all but a good chunk, just this month are they coming back.

Nice to see the UK representing.

I used to use Salifert Iodine test kits, I don't test any more. The reason is I under dose iodine. I'd always suggest taking it easy with iodine; as you've found out it can mess up your corals.

I dose The Reef Aquatics iodine.

Excellent! I'm planning something very similar in terms of low aquascaping. Like you I think allowing the corals to grow and fill the space rather than filling with rock is far more natural looking.
Great job!
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks again for all the kind words, much appreciated.

I will be doing another photo shoot towards the end of this year/early part of next year.

Regards,

Tony

Really enjoyed your thread. Beautiful corals, thank you for sharing.

Can you elaborate regarding the xenia on a reverse photoperiod. Specifically why xenia?

TIA

Thanks again to every one for their kind words, I am very pleased other people are enjoying my tank too.

It helps create a more stable PH.

Specifically why xenia?

TIA

It grows fast like a weed and I sell or exchange it at the shop for salt, flake food etc. So it helps reduce the running costs of the tank.

Really, really nice! Do you have any pictures of your rockscape that were taken before you added corals?

No sorry. I added the corals first, the system ran for nearly a year with no rock at all. Rock was added as some of the sps fell over under their own weight/mass; they needed to be fixed down.
