Where did you get the MH reflector?
Awesome tank BTW.

I bought everything from SLS. 1000w standard magnetic ballast, lumemax reflector, and 3.5 RPM light mover. except the buld is hamilton 14k

I'm loving the tank! Congrats... Lets see some actinics on there!! LOL I am just the junkie for blue tanks, don't mind me ;)

Overall look great!

chetm2, beautiful tank! i really like the rockwork.

i forsee one problem with your clean-up crew, the coral banded shrimp. they are okay cleaners, but they don't tolarate many other inverts. especially other shrimp. just a heads up :)

The Reefer91 - Thanks, and yeah, I thought about that. If they don't get along they might go into the refugium. Just a note that overnight air from liveaquaria.com to arizona has an estimated delivery time of 4:30 PM! Thats a long day to be sitting in 110+ degree weather. I hope they aren't all Bar-b-que when they get here.

I just put in 5 turbo snails on wednesday and those guys are kickin butt, I placed them on the 3 small pieces of live rock as that was where all of the nasty algae was starting to grow and they completely mowed down 2 of the rocks. When the rest come it should be nice and clean :) Does anybody have a suggestion for a stinky protein skimmer? I have the cup draining into a 5 gallon bucket with the lid on and some carbon inside but it is pulling some pretty funky, nasty stuff out of the water. I keep coming home and thinking my Bulldog dropped a duece somewhere.. I'm also running ozone and my ORP was at about 115 and now it's at 255

jdpierce21 - thanks. Well the stuff arrived and I'd say the majority is cooked. They didn't send the coral banded shrimp. They sent the peppermints but they were cooked, one was broken in half :( The temp today is 116-117 and they weren't delivered until almost three. Lucky for me I bought them from liveaquaria.com and they have great customer service. I will have to pick them up from the Fedex warehouse next time.

Sand look great but it is hard to keep it clean with low nutrient. For my tank i can't have sand due to the amount of flow inside my tank. I have 4 tunze 6200 total flow is 21000+gph, no sand will be able to stay in the bottom of my tank unless i go with corals crushed which is UGLY :)

I m liking the cube tanks ---the reef ceramics look really nice. Post some pics when the colors and life start to settle in

I actually do have some sand but will be taking it out because of the sandstorm from my CL's.

Just take out two 6200 and replacing it with wavebox and extension. I have so much more flow now with the wave approx 1.5". Here is some pix

Ironsheikh - the reef ceramic is expensive but think about the cost of equivalent live rock, easily double the price of the RC. Not to mention it's ECO friendly :)
REEFER714 - I talked with roger from Tunze and he didn't think the wavebox with the extension would work in my tank :( If I had know I would of skipped the top closed loop and ran the tank open on top like yours. I plan on adding a canopy someday...

He told me the same thing. That is why i started with 4 tunze 6200. I have the tunze on pulse and play around with the controller for couple days finally i decided to buy the wavebox. First i started with 1 wavebox with the 6200 on the slave cable. It rocks really good, so i bough the second wavebox assumed it will get better. I was right. I spoke to him again today, he told me to plug the hole on the back of the wavebox and it will make the wave bigger. I plugged the hole and my wave approx 1/4" higher.

chetm2:

I envy your tank bro, staying up late just to read the post
:) planning on the same setup in the future. by the way, can you post the website where you got the reef ceramic from and how much you end up spending including shipping?
and maybe roughly how much the setup cost in general? just wanna get an idea how much this will set me back.

thankx
