20 is a lot for that size tank, if you are conservative like me. If you are Chuck, different story!

How about anthias? I plan to keep over 100 fish in my tank :D

Steve, I'd stay away from the green Chromis'. Just add a few extra anthias ;)

When are we going to see this thing up and running?

The tank will go in first on the second week of March. This weekend i will have KEEPERZ (Joe), and a few other reefers to help take the tank off the stand so i can send it in for line-x. The tank will get wet by late March. I want to get the tank up and running before the official move-in date. The landlord agreed to let me get the tank into the garage by the 15th while they are working on painting the rest of the house... I really like the new place, the breaker box is located in the garage which is a plus...

100 fish...Wow, and people tell me I'm nuts. I've got 90 + in my tank and it's really too many. I am in the process of thinning out the heard a little. Really tough, at least for me, to keep the water quality up to par.

I've got 10 Anthias in the 600 and I really like the color and activity that they add to the tank. I've not had the troubles others have talked about with Anthias, feed them once a day along with the other fish.

Thank you for the picture Chuck. That is really nice. I am looking at a group of 20 small yellow tangs :D. I heard the green chromis killing each other is that true?
20 seems like a lot of Yellow tangs to me. I've got 5 in the 600 and 3 in the 470. A couple of them in the 600 are nearly six inches in length now after two years.

As far as chromis, stay away from the green chromis, they are terrors in the tank. The ones that you want or the Blue/Green chromis. They are very peaceful and swim together in a group. When I ordered a dozen of them for the 600, 5 that arrived were green chromis, not knowing better, I threw them in the tank. They each now have there own territory staked out in different parts of the tank and raise a ruckus when one strays into another ones territory, The remaining blue/green chromis stick to their little group and avoid getting near the green chromis. I've got 10 blue/green chromis in the 470 that I have had now for more than three years.

I think Anthias are quite striking in any tank personally. If I had that monster of a tank I would plan on a large school!

I actually plan on a few for my tank once its up and going. I have one female Lyrtail currently that will gain a new man and a few female companions as well....

No question though, it's gonna be a nice home for whatever fish you go with! They should do great with it being a Zeo system & all....

Chuck, which protein skimmer are you running now? With my protein skimmer 100 fish shouldn't be a problem :D... I really like to have lots of fish...

I'm running a H&S A300-3X1260 skimmer on the 600. I'm not trying to say that 100 fish isn't possible, but more the size of the fish that make up the tank should determine the total. The comment I hear the most when someone looks at my tank for the first time is the number of fish that I have in the tank. 100 fish are a lot of mouths to feed. I shut off all four pumps when I feed the tank so that there isn't any water movement to make sure that they are eating all I feed.

I'll count the number of fish I have in my 470 tomorrow for you. It's been a while and I really don't know how many I have in that tank.

Not very easy when they are small. I'd buy them from Live Aquaria if I were ever to buy more. The dozen I bought for the 600 came from a place that has since gone out of business. I get a picture of a grown one in my tank tomorrow and post it if that's OK with you. They even look mean when they get big....

I know 100 fish is a bit too much for my tank size. But i love to have lots of fish in my tank :D

Me too :D

I feel that if you want a serious school of 20+ fish, it would be better to concentrate on a small shoaling fish rather than tangs. They will add tremendous movement if you get the right one, and then you could conceivably have 50 in a school, of let's say 1.5" fish. I would think that would add tremendous drama to the tank and sooth your collector soul. :D

Well, for me I really like the redspot cardinalfish, but have not been able to get any to live. Unfortnately the company I bought them from shipped them twice with each fish in an individual bag. I was livid.

About 75 fish with 50+ DOA and none living longer than a week. I pleaded with them to ship 25 per bag but it just didn't happen. They are true schooling fish and need to be shipped as such with great care. My target was 35 - 40, and after the two shipments, they refused to send any more.

John, how about the blue eyes cardinal? Do you have any picture of the redspot?
I have 6 blue eyed cardinals that never move more than a few feet from their hangout above the cave on the right side of my tank. I've never seen them in the center or left side of my tank.

Here is a picture from Diver's Den for a fish they called Stop Light cardinal. It was selling for $25.
