I remember when I lived in Beverly Hills during the 1990's. Had a great pad on Maple Drive right near the center of town, huge vaulted ceilings, beautiful flor-to-ceiling windows, and my gas bill never went over $8. I thought gas was KING. Turns out we were just getting sucked in...go figure.

This year was pretty cheap. We didn't have a 30 below zero week-long snap... So I guess it was a little cheaper this year, but I doubt if affected the overall winter average much.

I second those gas bills... our energy bill crept up to $450 one month over the winter and only about $60 of that was electrical. Based on my calcs, my 240 display (almost 500 gal system) will run between $100 and $125 depending on A/C demand and perhaps less than $100 in the winter.

Wow, so you all get kill with Gas and we Southern Cal got kill with electricity .

I know it is going to be hot but i will have 4 6" dayton axle fans flow across the top on Temp controller. I also have 2 6" dayton axle fans flow in the stand. It will be nice and cool. I hope

That's a lot of fans too. Can you not figure a way to do it with less energy? Maybe use movers like I do?

Whats up no one does Christmas Lights? The savings from not running out Fl AC way low in Winter helps but the XMAS lights eats up our power too. LED next hahhah

I love the fuji purple t5's but what do the pros look like??

Light movers is cool. I will use it in my prop tank. I don't think it will work well in my main display though. I wish i could handle the 1000 watter

Eric, the Pro Color bulb appear Reddish pink. It helps making red color pop.... BTW, i love fiji purple...

How quiet are these Dayton fans? A couple websites I checked tout them as "the quietest fan"... Is this so?

If so, I'm gonna plan on getting some, only in 4" size. Cheaper than the Icecap jobs...

Dave, It is very quiet for it strength but don't expect it to be silence.
