That frag in the first pic david lee is the darker green variety i mentioned, the bottom one doesn't look to be the same species acro at all to the one i'm used to seeing. Both very nice regardless :)

Undoubtedly, one of the most spectacularly colored acros out there. I have seen so many color variations of this aro as others have already described. Flow does effect it's growth pattern. The more flow, the bushier it seems to get

Ok
I did the best to show the color of mine but the Iphone 5 sucks for pictures. Mine looks a lot like watchguy123 with the exception of the size.

As you can see from the crappy picture mine is pink with the shades of light green. I tried to get other sps in the picture so you can see the color better. This picture was taken under a single radion G1 with TIR lens with a spectrum of about 14k at 85% intensity.

I would say that the one that I have is thicker because it is directly in front of the return line and gets lots of direct flow.

It has more of the dark pink and light green compared to some of the others even though the picture does not do it justice. Is it a true SSC well that is the way it was sold to me and it sure looks like a few others from around here and i would agree and if its not i am still overjoyed to have it....Only time will tell as it is still very small.

hopefully Santa will bring me a camera for Christmas this year :)

Even in Norway, a piece of this cake has found its way :D

I am total convienced that there are at least 3 variants of this SSC.
Thin branched light pink with light green tabling
Thick branched darker pink with darker green and branching
Thick branched darker green with a little pink and branching

Now all that is needed is what source they are coming from and what specific location. I will see if the place were I got mine will share some information.

Here's an example of the other wild SSC that's supplied at times not that i've been lucky enough to score some, looks nothing like my piece and doesn't appeal to me as much but i'd still take it home in a heartbeat :)

That may be true, in my case, I have some crazy flow in my tank. It makes all my sps to grow really dense and atypical growth patterns. I actually get a lot of comments that my colonies look different from others of the same type.

THey're all from Australia, your LFS won't be able to tell you anything more detailed than that... Just because there appear to be some variants doesn't mean that it's anything more than variance within the species.

Do they ? Only Australia ? Maybe but I was talking more in reference to a specific seller or wholesaler :)

To me it seems if it is an acro with a Yellow Base and Pink Polyps from Australia, it seems the wholesaler will label it SSC. I know I've seen at least 3 different variants. Will try and get pics of mine this weekend. :)

If they're not all from Australia, they're at least common in Australia and rare from current collection areas in the Indo-pacific. Specific wholesaler or seller would be anyone that has access to Aussie corals.
