I have no clue what your talking about with the ritteris. My latz are just coming out of QT. So i have no sick fish. And how do i have temp issues??? I was asking if it would be enough? Thats not an issue at all. I am buying a 1/2 HP chiller next week for the new tank. And once the tank arrives i am using cured LR from my other system. And water from another system. So i will have no cycle. And yes i said no cycle. I have transferred tanks many times and never had a cycle. Everything in my tank is growing and doing great. All my sps are doing great too. If this was a 10 dollar fish no one would have a problem with it. You shouldn't be sitting here yelling at me. If anything you should be telling me how to give it the best chance of survival. I am confident that it's going to do fine.

I suggest that you read up on murphy's law, that old man is going to be hounding you! here are some tips to keep murphy at bay

completely covered tank, if the fish can jump out, it will
completely covered powerheads and pumps, if the fish can get sucked up, it will
no live food, if it can bring in parasites or funk, it will
no high temperatures, if the temperature can shoot up, it will
two thermometers, analog and digital, if your thermometers can tell you the wrong temp, they will
no cheap heaters, if they can stick on and fry your fish, it will
no rio pumps, if they can burn up, they will
no old salts, if the salt can go bad, it will
keep an eye on salinity, use a hydrometer and refractometer, if the salinity can shoot up, it will
automatic battery operated air pump, if the power can go out, it will
extra batteries, if the batteries can run out, they will
no overflow boxes, if the U-tube can get a bubble, it will
no kalkwasser, if the kalkwasser can spike the pH, it will
no messing with the tank before you go out of town, if there's a chance you'll forget
something, you will
No dosing for red slime or flatworms, if the solution can go bad, then it bloody will

If anyone has any other murphy-defying suggestions please add them. Fishkid, I suggest you tape these guidelines right in front of your toilet so you can stare at them everyday as you wake up while doing your morning routine. I hope you take this seriously because murphy just put you at the top of his hit list.

Dang it fishkid, it doesnt sound like you are ready to keep this kind of fish alive at all. What are you doing spending $1600 on a fish when your tanks aren't in order and your other fish are sick?
The following are your threads which indicate you have nothing but problems right now. You should really reconsider not buying this fish at the moment.
temperature issues
Sick Fish
Buying Ritteris

You're a bad loser arent ya?

Well Said Jake ;)
The reef gods are no joke. There are plenty of experienced reefkeepers that can attest to this :sad1:

I believe that the angel is going into a seperate tank than the latz. Also, I dont see many issues. The anemone issue looks like it was from 5-6 months ago. The Heat issue was brought up and it seems like he's going to be getting a chiller. The latz issue I find irrelevant, whereas they are in a seperate tank than where the Angel is going.

Are you fishkids Mult, parent, sibling, friend, etc? You consistently jump in and defend this guy time and time again. You also seem to know alot about what he intends to do. This fish should be going into either an established QT or display. Coincidence that both of you are also from Connecticut?

I really doubt this is a case of jealousy. This is a rare fish in the hobby and to know it's going in the tank of someone asking somewhat noobie questions raises concern of the welfare of the fish among those that appreciate the rarity of the fish...

As you know me pretty well Ian and you know I appreciate the "rarity" of the hobby; but if a person that is just starting out in the hobby wants to spend that kind of change on a centropyge, why not this one. The kid is 16 and I know that I have had to learn the hard way more than once.
I agree that its not based on jealousy as I know most of the people that are chiming in have a decent collection of fish. We are just a bunch of fish nuts :p

fishkidd6692...... Isn't he also the one that was going to buy the penny sized bandit?

yep, that could be fueling this fire even more than usual ;)

Yea but everyone told me not too. more people told me to go forthe bandit hen this. I was told this was a pretty hardy fish? If it would be better for the fish i could put it in my reef that has been running a little over 8 months. But it is well established. I think it will be better off in the QT but whatever you guys think is best. I am going to get this fish because i think i can care for it so if someone could help me instead of bash me that would be great.

Not bashing, just wondering what a sight that would be to see. Beautiful fish, good luck and be sure to post pics!!

Matt, amazing fish.... just make sure that the quarantine has the good skimmer on it, and very well temp controlled!!!

if you need help man, just give me a buz, help the kid out Mr. Pros out there? I know you guys are wicked big fish nuts but, help the kid out.... he is fortunate enough to be able to afford this, so rather than push him away help him out and let him know what to and what not do.

Hope to see this beautiful fish in person soon ;)

matt, do what you want. take advice, but pay no mind to people who have a problem with you or what you do. they need to get off their pedestals and offer advice.

if they like it or not, the fish is goign to you. if they care as much as they say they do, they would be more than happy to help and offer advice, after all, theyre experts right?

because we all support our local fish store and it would have been nice to see it go to someone local who supports OT regularly instead of someone else who just "cherry picks" the extremely rare stuff.

Congrats on scoring a cool fish...post some pics ASAP
