Sudden Death!

Well, went for a feeding this morning and my Sohal was dead in the water in the bottom of my Tank ***! Fine last night and dead this morning RIP. I bought it from JoJos and it was skinny, about 2 months ago. He gave me a good deal on it so I bought in plans to fatten him up. Always wondered why he stayed skinny while all the others were getting plump and fat. Cyanide maybe? It had no visible laceration or spots. Only thing I can think of, and it probably never recovered. This sucks... Need to find a replacement. First casualty, aside from my blennies break dancing on the floor.

That sucks. I stay away from stores that buy from suppliers that Cyanide the fish.

^^^agreed...intestinal worms...I had problems with many tangs like the symptoms you described and once too many casualties...now I qt prazipro regardless and 100% no death so far...with at least 10 tangs now...my sohal from jojo is going on almost a year now...sorry bout the lost...

Thanks, everyone. I'll be looking for a replacement. Maybe a Floweri or another Sohal. So please keep an eye out. Real odd, my other fishes are very healthy. Seems sudden death is a mystery. I guess I'll never know how it died.

Internal parasites are a strange killer. I had a Mandarin that ate like crazy and about 2 months after I got him he just started getting skinny. I know there was plenty of food because his girlfriend was getting fatter every day. They stopped mating and he just shriveled up and died. Prazi will kill most of the parasites if they are the worm variety but won't get em all. I now finish up my QT with the last 7 days running a broad spectrum anti parasitic on my fish.
