havent stopped by your thread in awhile, my oh my you have been busy....delivery guy knocking quite a bit. regarding the salinity monitor, not sure if you'd be happy with the purchase.....nothing like a refractometer to check on your salinity. if its not too spendy, go for it.

I am really confused to buy this product. One side a group of people are recommending and other side same number of users are saying reading is not correct.....:crazy1:

Since I am using Apex Lite. little addition will work fine. I just need to buy Apex salinity checker PM2 is 84.99$

and Salinity probe is 124.99$

$209.88 ... for keep eye on salinity.....:(
 
i got the apex, and was double checking with one of those plastic checkers... to keep a long story short... stick to your refractometer!

Hi folks,

Got Marine Source Dosing pump with 4 additional head.

Three weeks before I made three Glass containers, each container can hold 16liters of water. So I made enough solution for calcium chloride, Sodium bicarbonate and Magnesium chloride + Magnesium sulphate.

Found a proper place under the cabinet and screwed the Doser (DSP1 and DSP2) for further dosing.....was thing it will make my life easy.... I adjusted 10ML of Calcium and Alkalinity daily and 10ML Mg for weekly dose.. :) ... until here everything was quite right and I was extremely satisfied and confident with my new Toy (Marine source Dosing Pumps) instead of Bubble magus....

BUT

on next afternoon, when I came back from my work I found the level of Sodium Bicarbonate container was quite low. I thought container is leaked from somewhere, can say almost 800ML or more was less from the level I left last night. ............:confused:.... it's look like my balls stuck in my throat........:headwallblue:...

The whole tank was fine. fishes, SPs, LPS and all other life in the tank was looking fine. Just the water was little cloudy.....

I immediately checked refugium and found all of the grape algae get browned and lied on the sand bed...........:headwallblue:......

Actually one of the head of my new doser was not able to stop dosing, It dose almost 800ML plus Alk in refugium. I noticed the second head of doser, which was connected with Alk container was continuously dripping.... every 5 to 7 second one drop was dripping in the sump which ******up all my refugium.

I immediately checked Alkalinity using Hanna checker....... got 209ppm ......:headwallblue:..... and result was....

As part of my new build i order the new Bubble Magus Doser pump.

I keep it simple and dose KH, Alk, Mg, Strontium, Iodine, Iron and trace element.

I really Got good price from fish-Street. Normally i buy my tank stuff from BRS and Premium Aquatics. This time I tried Fish Street from Hong Kong. The BM-BT01 is under $275 for three pumps showing a $30 savings which is increased by adding the BM-T02 add-on of 4 pumps at about $170/pump.

The price price difference in addition to the dedicated unit was enough to make the splurge worth it.

The unit arrived nicely boxed.

I think it's closed to prevent it from humidity. In cause of use can be cut it off.....:worried:

Setup is as easy as it gets, plug in power and wait a few seconds for it to load.

To setup:

(1) set the time
- press escape
- use the up/down buttons to select set time, press enter
- set the time using the up/down buttons for each digit and press enter

(2) connect lines
- I used standard air line tubing which seems to fit nice and snug
- input is on the left, output on the right

(3) prime the pump
- press escape
- use the up/down buttons to select manual control, press enter
- select the pump using the up/down button - pump 1,2 & 3 are on the primary unit, 4,5,6 & 7 on the secondary (I'm guessing an additional add-on would continue the trend)
- press and hold enter to manually run the pump till the air bubbles are out and the line is full

(2) configure pump for dosing
- press escape
- use the up/down buttons to select setup program
- use the up/down button to select 1-3 for the primary unit, or 4-7 for the secondary
- use the up/down to select the pump number
- set the ml/day using the up/down buttons for each digit and press enter. you can select from 1-1999 ml.
- set the cycles per day and press enter. these are based on the following table:

4-5: 1,2,3,4,6,8
6-11: 1,2,3,4,6,8,12

- set the start time (take note you can only select the start hour, press enter. the minutes are per-determined based on the pump number). for example P1-:00 P2-:05 P3-:10 and so on.

*** NOTE - the pumps are forced to run one at a time to prevent mixing of chemicals.

-press esc to return to the main screen

testing:
To test I used a cup of RO/DI and a BRS 250ml flask. For each channel I put a 100 ml single dose and set the time so that it would run a minute after programming.


* as a side not I found it interesting that the pumps are either 100 ml or 110 ml - I was expecting more of a distribution.



I also ordered the line holder - fantastic quality and are show-case worthy! apparently when buying Bubble Magus pumps it is assumed you have a rimless sump - the bracket will only fit facing down, compared to the horizontal it is made for. this will not impact usage, just something noteworthy.

Great explanation of the doing pumps. Weird how they sent Chinese instructions instead of the instructions being in your language or English.

I try to keep my tank at 75.5° - 76.5°F which is 24.2° to 24.7°C
