Tank of the Month - April '03

Thank you, Thank you. I've put alot of work into doing alot of nothing with my tank, and I think it shows. I believe my method of SITSLEEP can work for anyone that truly has no patience what-so-ever. With enough inattention, your tank can become as great as mine.
WaterKeeper, I prefer to use Scott's Lawn ProÃ"šÃ‚® Super Turf BuilderÃ"šÃ‚® Lawn Fertilizer, as it really gives it that plush, taken-care-of look, even if I do nothing more. Now, keep in mind, you don't want to over-do it. For my 20gallon tank, I only need to use 2 cups a day of this wonderful fertilizer.
As to the skimmer, the Skilter is doing a magnificent job, however I am considering a change. I'm looking at a dual-turbo SeaClone system that should produce even more wonderful skimmate. I'm estimating at least a full tablespoon per month! (next month's article if you're good kids;))
Thanks again for the praise, I definately deserve it.

This picture does HAMBONE's tank no justice. I was over his/her place a few days ago and the tank was do for a top off. Some of the fish were actually unable to completely submerge themselves under water. Youââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢d be amazed by the striking color of a purple tang 1/2 out of water. The way the sun reflected off Hamboneââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s GED plaque and on to the tank, just made that purple against the green background breath taking. I took a pic, and will post it as soon as I get the pictures developed at walmart and emailed to my cousin who has a scanner.

Amazing tank Hambone! Truly an inspiration for us all. I will strive to attain the same level of perfection in my tank that you have achieved in your tank. Great work!!

you can tell hambone is really into his animals health....

outside activity freaking out your fish? not in this tank...

nice job hambone!

Wow, it really is amazing to see how you were able to grow such high quality algae. It really is a true masterpiece.

I hope you don't mind, but I printed out some photos of your tank and taken them to my lfs. They were so impressed they asked if they would be able to include them on their store brochure. One look at this tank, and EVERYONE will want a system just like it.

Keep up the great work!!

SilverShark,

If you are not yet convinced of the beauty of this fantastic Tank-of-the-Month, then you might want to take a look at the brochures that my LFS is having made up. They are really going to be great.

Laugh!

Laugh!

LOL!

Here's to Hambone!
Keep on growing the green stuff and happy April Fools!

  :uzi: :bounce2:  :bounce1:   :hammer:

Oh yeah and as for the tank---:blown:

Whatever. My tank looks just as awesome, and I have a lot more diversity in the algae on the glass, and covering rocks and livestock. I have got loads of brown slime, green slime, purplish slime, hair algae of numerous types. I have Chia snails too.

Who did this HamBone fool pay off to get TOTM? This whole TOTM thing is a scam. Some RC insider thing. :rolleye1: :mad2:

Wow

Wow

That is truely an amazing feat of reefkeeping, Hambone. Worthy of all the accolades of previous messages...Seeing that is a humbling experience for me. I wish that I could exhibit the patience it takes to not intervene in a tank of that magnitude

You are truely a Zen master of tank non-intervention.
I am but a lowly 'grasshopper'....;)

My hat's off to ya'...

Do you ever wonder how Hambone has time to be on RC, keep up with editing duties on RKO, and care for his TOTM? Here's his secret....
