I am going to start this build off on the right foot- after my 45G Cube crack from trying to drill it for an overflow to save money I ended up cracking my first tank,(Not the first time drilling a Tank mistake on my part) anyhow got a great deal on a 60G cube so I just upgraded and went taller. Here it is getting ready to be filled in the next two weeks

I will update once I get all the plumbing done... :uzi:

I am tagging along for this one since I have to same tank... Lookin forward go seeing what you do on this tank.

Btw, most of us with this tank have 2x mp10s. Are you lookin to add another in the future?

I might not since the newly discovered findings and the actual GPH this pump puts out almost 2100GPH, I feel this should be enought plus I have the Tunze which would be structured into the rock work.

Good stuff I have this one also. And I have seen one mp10 doing just fine on this most use 2 but run them only halfish power 1 at full power will knock down frags as it does in my buddies cube.

Here is mine

Also forgot to add my return Pump using a Mag 7 might have to dial it down a bit but will be enough flow to T off for my bio-pellet reactor

Do you already have the Mag 7? they tend to output alot of heat, I would consider soemthing else, if you can.

They really do but in the winter it actually kept my temps right @ 78 degress but I have a plan to keep that down if it works., but I actually was looking at the Tunze Silence 1073.05 which has been tested to put out less heat in your aquarium and is extremely quite... But I don't know if my pockets can handle the pricing on it... LOL

Get an Eheim pump man, come over and listen to mine, you can't even hear it.

I run the smaller of the tunze silence pumps for my return and it's great. I picked it up on the for sale forums for $45.

I'm using a Tunze Silence on my setup (T1073.040) and it is by far the quietest pump I've ever run..... Great pump and you cant beat the service from Tunze....

Eheim would be my 2nd choice though, followed by Quiet One.... The QO pumps can be hit or miss, but when you hit with one they're pretty silent...

So this should be enough?

I was running a Mag24 on my skimmer a couple years back, it even had an effect on a 240G total volume system.

When I switched it for a GenX55, I first used it in my mixing barrel, I was shocked at how fast it raise the temp of a barrel of 28 gallons so fast and so hot, it was like bathwater...and yet, using the 24 was way overkill for mixing :)

That should get you slow flow Frankie, I mean figure...Tunze ratings - 40% and you are good to go! <a href="http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php" title="Smiley"><img src="http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing001.gif" alt="Smiley" border="0" /></a>

If he were using a 6205 for his return pump then that would be the case, fortunately their return pumps are just about right based off other pumps I tried before sticking with the Tunze for the silence factor (pun intended)..... :frog:
