Taylor's Tech 120 build

time for an update...

the tank is doing much better as far as algae goes. There is still hair algae here and there but its gotten better. This time around Im not doing anything other than water changes. All of the corals and fish are happy at the moment and I plan on adding a few fish once I get my quarantine setup up and running this week.

I want to add
-powder brown tang
-mystery wrasse
-some anthias( any suggestions here?)
-possibly a 6 line wrasse

and here are the some crappy phone pics I took tonight. Im hoping to get borrow my brothers camera again soon for better pics.

Very nice man. Your pulling some very nice colours. Can you posted the lastest refugium shot? How do you prevent the growing algae in the sump ending up in the return pump section and causing blockages or even bits ending up in the display?

I'll snap a pic tonight hopefully. I have 2 types of chaeto in my sump and I wedge them in the baffles before my refugium since they don't grow much anyways. Red gracilaria grows like mad in the refugium though. I'm not sure its as good at removing nutrients though. This stuff is so dense that it never really makes its way into my return area of the sump.

Colors look great, much better than mine!

Looking good!!!

Thanks guys, the colors are improving for sure but I'd like to see some better growth. Im hoping the issue there is that my tank is still maturing.

Sahin, sorry for the late update buddy. Here is the refugium shot you asked for. It's mostly red gracilaria. I also made a basket out of egg crate to hold about 5 pounds of rock rubble.

Wow that looks rather nice! I'm going to pick up some gracilaria and chaeto. Thanks for the photo buddy, really appreciate it.

Have had this guy in quarantine for a week or two in hyposalinity. Just setup the ghetto ATO in my spare bedroom.

I just recently got him eating Nori and Emerald Entree. He wouldn't eat the nori off the clip or when rubber-banned to a frag disk. Only started eating it when on a piece of live rock. I also couldnt get him to eat any mysis or brine shrimp but the Emerald Entree was instant.

Man your skimmer looks to be performing 10/10!

Yeah skimmer has been awesome! Unfortunately I managed to kill my PB tang and mystery wrasse that were in QT after a 20% water change with some IO salt. Not sure if it matters it was a clumpy or not but it was completely mixed at the same salinity and temp. Did the change and the next morning both fish were gonners. :furious:
