Tech diving in Rarotonga, Cook Islands

Hi All

So last night I was trying to make arrangements to do a 100-120 m tech dive in Rarotonga but I was told by most of the dive centers that they are not able to assist me and they can only take me to about 30 - 40 m. I inquired why and they told me there are no deco chamber support in the Cook Islands.

I wanted to know if anyone has done a tech dive in the Cook Islands and if so, how? Do we need to fly our own equipment out or who do I contact to be able to do the dive?

Considering the lack of an available chamber, it's already obvious the commercial dive ops won't run the risk of deco dives. So obviously your own for doing that type of diving in that area.

you're approaching rebreather territory at that depth (+- 400'), a bit past tri-mix.

my buddy does alot of his tech diving out of the Philippines.

Bill, I know what you mean. Since there is no deco support available we need to make our own arrangements to get that sorted out.

r-balljunkie, we are going to have a meeting this coming week to discuss what mixes will be used. Has he found anything interested at those depths? At this moment we are focusing on either Tahiti, Palua or the Cook Islands.
