Ah! You're the guy that took the larger of the goldflakes! I was too late to reply so have to take the smaller one. It's OK, I'm glad he's going to a good home.
. I agree, the service at CRS is exceptional.
... maybe
And yes, a fine specimen that has adapted well to captive life in my system. Currently eating anything I put into the tank, including pellet, PE mysis, and flake. All top quality livestock and service at CRS
How is your gold flake doing?
Your tank is coming along amazingly well! Beautiful fish too, one of my favorite angels and one of my favorite wrasses
Thanks, I appreciate your comments and fish preferences
Tank looks great!
Are the PM and others in your tank now?
Hey BigE! Hope things are well with you- I will update you through PM
BTW- I copied your bulb choice to see if I can bring out the colours like you so often show us in your pics
very very nice growth and corals!
So are you just doing the basics as stated here? No more AF, Siporax, or any other additives for coral food?
Also what params do you aim for? Alk, calc, phosphates and nitrates?
Also how long do you run all 8 t5s for?
Sorry for all the questions but with your great growth and if youre just doing the basics and no other dosing besides 2 part, thats pretty much exactly like my setup with the same lights so I am very interested.
Thanks for your questions.. No problem at all.
I am mainly doing regular water changes and trying to keep my ALK rock solid, although its been slightly challenging with the growth. usually aim around 8 DKH. CA seems to hold around 420 consistently- I usually only adjust my ALK when needed and everything else seems to fall into place for me.
I feed a few times a day with a wide selection of food, heavy skimming too.
Also feed with ReefRoids if I notice the coral colour is slightly pale and PE has reduced somewhat. Still trying to find the sweet spot.
I do have Siporax in the sump, that was seeded with AF Pro Bio. Honestly- I haven't found the need to keep dosing the AF bacteria, as my nitrates are consistently holding around 5 and phosphates are under .10.
It appears that things are stable and thriving with decent acro growth and colour, and not a lot of access algae growing on the rock work or back glass.
In regards to other supplements, I have played with the common AF products, but haven't found them to make much of a difference. I think it all comes down to feeding and fish poop
