Terry's 180 Peninsula Reef build.

That's what I said to my wife, who is at this point unsure if she is OK with this project. Of course, holes have already been drilled in the floor so...

two tanks balances out two pugs

two tanks balances out two pugs

Whose pugs? LOL!

Everything is very nice in that video. Check out Julian Spring's current mangrove tank full of sofies, LPS etc.
THAT'S what you should do. (In my humble opinion) :)

The never-ending tinkering continues...

I added a 50 gallon Zoo Med Low Boy frag tank into the system:

Looking good! Love the under-rim return lines, great solution to the problem with a peninsula system.

I'm building a 140g peninsula, but since it's rimless... well, I'll have to come up with something else ;(

That light of yours... 4x 54w t5's and 3x Kessel's, right? I'm doing an 8 bulb T5, but might consider cutting out the two middle bulbs in favor of something like this. Yours looks great :)

4x 80w, but yes.

I did something similar on my last tank. Took an 8 bulb tek light, cut out the middle 4 bulbs and installed Radions. I loved it.

Just read your whole thread, really inspiring. The innovative ways you did your lights and to the return lines, giving plenty of us some ideas.
Great tank and progress.
Hard work truly does pay off.

I previously had a similar light setup with 2 360's and 4 t5's over a 36" tank. Loved it but now with the success of the coral lab programs on the radions, I am kicking around radions and t5's. Ever considered swapping the kessils for something else? How do you feel the kessils compare to the radions as supplemental lighting to the t5's?

Here is what I said about the Kessils back in December of '15

"My early review of the Kessil A360We is this:

After having run Gen 1, Gen 3 and Gen 3 Pro Radions, I loved them. They were as advertised. They were controllable, customizable, and grew corals. I always like LED with T5 supplement, but I could not have been happier with the Radions. They simply didn't fit in this fixture. I wanted to try out Kessils, and my hand was forces, because no amount of modification was going to squeeze a 7" radion into a 5" gap between the T5 reflectors on the fixture.

The first and most obvious difference is ascetic. The Kessils are little cans, and they hang below the fixture. Radions would not. I actually love the look. I love the look of the three cans below the fixture.

The next most obvious thing is the shimmer. Wow. Everyone who has seen the tank has commented on the shimmer. I have never run MHs, so I cannot compare, but it is beautiful to see. I was afraid it may be too much, and it's not.

They are less controllable than Radions, which for some people is a good thing, as they don't want to tinker with their lights all of the time.

I do wish they would dim all the way down. They cut off at like 12%, which is OK, I have moonlights built into the fixture. But with LED, one of my favorite things is the slow ramp up/ramp down in the morning and at night. I don't have the replacement Kessil cable from BRS yet, so I am running them off of the Kessil controller, and it works fine. The Apex wizard is better. "

I had Gen 3 Radions on my old tank, with T5 supplements. I would love Gen 4 Radions, but that is a lot of scratch

No pics today, but updates continue...

My electrician came and replaced the panel for the house. We were maxed out on breakers. He also ran three new circuits for the basement, one for the fish area, two for the living room, bathroom, and bedroom that are going in down there.

I haven't run the outlets yet, but that is next.

Tank is doing great. Fish and corals are thriving. Lots of growth. I'm battling a bit of a cyano outbreak, so I have cut back on the NOPOX dose, to see if that makes a difference. I'd rather not doing anything drastic.
