Hats off to you and Todd, you did another great job with the collection trip, I had a real good time, and I'm positive all the Kids really enjoyed it and learned a lot from Todd.

Glad all you PA people could make it, hope you all enjoyed Joe's hospitality and his infulence with the weathermen!. :D

couldnt make it...had soccer practice for the school team. :(

please inform me of watcha' guys caught! :)

...thanks....... Joe and Todd for another fun day. Also I hope Sanjay and the PA crew had a fun day as well. It seemed we had alot more people this year compared to past years so it was alittle crowded around the net. We didn't have the large grassbeds this year so we didn't get to many tropicals this year, but there were a few butterflies and Todd's favorite..a flying gunard....as for me I got my ussual assortment of snails, shrimps, seaweeds full of pods and critters.

Yes, thanks everyone for coming, and thanks to Chuck for the exceptional navigation skills ( :) ). It's always one of the beeter meets, beautiful weather, a great way to spend a late summer morning.

Nice to meet the PA crew too, and put some faces to screennames (Zoa and Vyger)--

Christine

The grass beds by Swan Beach got devestated by power dredging for clams a couple of years ago, thanks to the wisdom of the Southampton Town Trustees

BTW there are still good healthy grass beds in other areas of the bay, however they haven't been very productive of tropicals this year either. I've had much better luck out by Fire Island Inlet this year.

Looks like a good time. I didn't hear any thanks go out, or see any pix of Calfo. Was he not there?

Big Thanks to Joe, Todd, Chris and the Atlantis staff for making it worth our while to drive out 6+ hours for this. It was a memorable trip for a lot of the NCPARS folks, and I heard nothing but words of apprecation for all of you. Inspite of trying to kill me by making me drag the net while I was upto my eyes in the water :D I am going to have to get back at Todd some day.

It was sure nice to meet the LIRA guys again, even though I did not remember all the names.. sorry about that.

Lots of people, we may need to go with two nets next year.

Todd and Sanjay doing their thing.

Moments later, CPR was administered to Sanjay...

The day wasn't without risks though, the reef keeping community almost lost one of its best and "brightest" when taking the deep end of the net ...

At this point I dropped my camera, jumped into the water and dragged Sanjay ashore... We'll need to get a taller reef guru for next year or go on a lower tide :)

Many Thanks to Joe and Todd and all that made this a great day at the bay. You couldn't have asked for nicer weather for it. It was a beautiful day...Also nice to meet and talk to some people from this forum . I saw some very interesting fish caught (buttertfly, jawfish, baby puffers, pipe fish and others) that I had no idea inhabitated the waters down the street from me all these years. Nice shot of me and Tom talking about the butterfly fish that he scooped up while snorkliing and wondering if the wetsuit he had on came in stretch sizes LOL.. Thanks again to all for making this such an interesting and informative trip down to my local beach..

Bill
