That Fish Place/NCPARS Winter Event

Can't wait! I hope that Marineland has its LED lights that they brought to MACNA -- I really want a chance to look them over again. And I have been looking at the Marineland cubes as possible upgrades...

Elysia- I don't think I will have them there in time for the swap. We are scheduled to start shipping these in a very limited amount this week, but will not have our full container in until February 1, when all our customers will receive them. We did not anticipate the huge demand for these lights, as they are not "high intensity" reef lights, but more so for just regular aquarium, and possibly refugium, lighting.
I'll do my best to have some there, but it does not look good at this point. They are, as the saying goes, on a slow boat from China:D

Thanks for the update about the Marineland LEDs. Its a shame that the frag swap is missing the LED's general release by one day! But I am sure that the time will pass quickly, and I am looking forward to the chance to check out these LEDs again. I think that an all LED unit with separate plugs for white, actinic, and moonlight bulbs is desperately needed in the hobby. These lights should be perfect for seahorse set ups, due to their low heat generation.

Whether the LEDs are available to :inlove: at the swap or not, I'm still looking forward to it!

I'll do my best!

I should clarify, that Feb 1 is when the container is due in. They still have to clear US Customs, our own quality control, then ship from us to our distributors, then to LFS around the country. It could very well be March before they are widely available....Huge bummer, but with the demand, I know we will do everything we can to expedite the process.

Don't have an exact number myself but they had tons of tables up and running... i would say this year will be even larger. Look on fragswapper.com to get a feel for the expected frags. Just be aware not everyone uses fragswapper to list their corals. I know smcooler brings about 100+ and doesn't list them as far as i know.

i will be there and have at least 150 high end acros and monties anyone looking for acros can email me to reserve the good stuff. I have started fraging for this event so the frags will be chunky:eek2:

i heard something about coupons being passed out.just wanted to verify cause im looking for a bigger tank(240 or 300) and would hold off until the swap.anyone else hear anything?

hopefully they do this year cause i got the cash and im struggling right now from keeping my tank from crashing.coupon or not im still buyin a new setup when i go to TFP.fingers are crossed.

attendence is climbing fast and there are loads of beautiful corals listed on fragswapper.
If this keeps up ,it will be standing room only, lol
There will be some awesome items in the raffles also.
less then a month to go for the biggest frag event in our area.

I just got word we will be having Chris Brightwell and Ike from Current/Exotic.
Ike will be doing a presentation on LED lighting.
Lots on industry experts will be there to answer questions and show all the new stuff

Anyone have pics of last years event?

Any guess on how many frags might be there, I would be driving a long ways.

The number of frags available at the event should be substantial, along with all of the stuff that will be traded by the attendees in the swap, TFP will have several hundred frags available from our inhouse collection, ORA, FHI, and Jason Fox.

there is 135 registered already to attend with a little less then a month to go.Its going to be a biggie.

there is around 300 corals listed on fragswapper and probably 500 or so that will be brought by swappers.you should be able to find what you are looking for,lol

add that to the awesome corals that TFP will have for the swap and I would have to say we will have more corals to choose from then ever before

Oh thats just great! There goes my paycheck.

I just realized I need to teach class that morning so I'm going to be late. I need to figure out if I can even list anything or if I'm just going to buy from folks that will be there a while. I'm only and hour away, but class runs until 1!

how will the frag swap work? will there be different catagories(sps, lps, softie) or will it all be mixed together? is there a limit to how many frags we can bring.

sounds like a great time and cant wait.

It is a great time for the reef addicts in the area.being a landlocked state it feels good to us frozen PA peeps to see some reef animals in the dead of winter,it has a warming effect on me for sure

No limits on what you can bring, but no dry goods or used equipment will be allowed in the store

Corals will be basically mixed,The swappers will have a table to display there corals and people wander around and browse looking for the pieces they want.in between the swapping there will be speakers, demos and product displays with reps there to answer questions.
