The 225.

Couldnt resist grabbing these two guys today.

This guy is about 3.5-4 inches. I know Im going to have to replenish the CuC every once in a while but I've always wanted one and got him for a good price.

And I was actually going to get this guy and a yellow tang but the yellow didnt look well so it was the tusk and this sailfin.
.

Also gotta couple mille frags that seen to be doing well and a frag of some darth mauls or space monster or something but cant really get a good pic with my phone, gonna bust out the canon tomorrow but dont have a macro lens so will do the best I can to get some decent pics!

So heres a few pics of the 225 progress. Hoping to have it wet and salty by the end of the week.
Me and Pife drilled the holes.

Jebao DC12000 for a return pump.

Overflow is 24"x7.5x4", I made it at work. I used GOOP adhesive/sealant to stick it to the back of the tank.

Heres the manifold. it has six 1/2" ball valves. Im only going to use 3 of them for now (GFO,Sulphur reactor, and Carbon) but I figured I'd rather have them and not need them etc..

55g sump,bean animal overflow,1.5" plumbing up to 3/4" locline.

First two pieces of rock went in tonight. I decided to use a piece of cool holey rock and some lace rock I kept from when the tank was a cichlid tank. It will make good base rock and has some nice shapes etc.
How do you like that jebao pump?

So far so good on the pump,I only have it up to 1/2 power and its doing a great job so far. I can turn it up once I put a couple reactors online thru the manifold.

Its pretty quiet at 1/2 power, It gets louder the more power you run to it and of course its on the other side of a wall in the laundry room so that makes it alot more quiet than if it was under the tank. =)

Has to be quieter than a washing machine.

I really never paid attention to the sound of the pump when I've been over so it can't be that loud:beer:. I can say it moves some water

How are you liking that jebao DC pump? I want to get a bit more flow than my panworld, so was thinking of upgrading to the DC 12000. But the quick slow down in any head height is a killer. I figure I need 5'.

Like the controllability of speed. Especially at feeding time

Ive decided to replace my 225 with a new one. The one I currently have is around 20+ years old. Its gotten some distortion when you look at it from a certain angle and its driving me crazy.

You can see the lines in the glass in this pic. It doesnt rub off or anything. Im

Im going to use the old 225 for a sump which I plan on filling with 4-600 lbs. of live rock.

I've also got a Skimz Monzter SM201 skimmer on the way. Ive been holding off on turning powerheads on towards the bottom because I dont have a skimmer going.

Got the skimmer today. Its a Skimz SM201 got it online and right now its going absolutely nuts, overflowing like crazy so much that I just took off the lid so just let it flow and break in.

This is apparently normal and I should just let it go for a couple days before I can make any adjustments reliably.

So after letting the skimmer run for a week and doing some adjustments this is the result.

The thing is a beast, never got anything this nasty out of my G2.

Thanks goes out to Cobra,Pife,Smack and my buddy Josh, for coming over last weekend to help move the tank into the basement.

Here is where it will sit until we get new flooring in the basement which currently has white carpet that I hate. Plan is to get some ceramic that looks like wood since actual wood isnt very moisture friendly.

Cheech had to get in the shot.

Looks like a pretty good skimmer.

What is it that prompted you to buy that one as compared to others in it's same price range? (ie; Reef Octopus 6" Regal, ect)
