The angel thread to end all angel threads: all owners of angelfish in reefs respond!!

Coral Beauty angelfish in mixed reef with no problems. In fact the fish seems to help my red gorgonian stay algae-free by grazing on it. At first I thought he/she was taking nips but then watched as it grazed live rock in the same way. A very nice fish and beautiful too.

occasionally nip harmlessly on SPS, clam mantle. The reason I say harmless is my clams and SPS doesn't seem to be bother by it.

In my system have queen angel pr of flames pr of bicolor scribble, asfur, chrysippus, keyhole, lamark, imperator, and 3 or 4 more cant think of their names. Have not had problems with them bothering my sps are soft corals. they will go after acans, duncans and a few others. Feed twice a day differnt things from brine, flakes, romaine lettuce. seweed and they seem happy with that.

I have a coral beauty, no problems at all eat flake mysis and cyclopeeze, never even near the corals, likes to play with my coral banded shrimp

Looking at the spreadsheet, it appears that it *might* be safe to add a lemonpeel angel to a reef. That is completely contrary to everything I have ever heard/read.

Can some more lemonpeel owners chip in? I have a beautiful one that I would love to add to my reef.....

I remember a know-it-all, back in the day, and I got into it here about his queen angel reef system set up. I remember him getting really ****ed when I suggested that his precious angel was a ticking time bomb. I wish I would've stuck around that discussion to see how it all turned out. I've got a pretty good idea how it all ended, though, because I don't see him here anymore.

Two potters angels in a 180 mainly sps.
Both leave the sps alone but bothered my blue crocea clam, I had to move it to another tank.
They leave the smaller brownish deresa clam alone, so far.
Neither have bothered the 3 or 4 lps (acans, brains) either.

Ebili Angel - Nipped at poclipora, zoas, and SPS within 24 hours of going into the reef. Ignored the kenya tree and button polyps in my BioCube QT. Did serious damage to the poclipora, caused SPS polyp extension to cease.

Regal Angel-kept in frag tank for 2 months. Didn't nip at corals, had SPS, LPS, Zoas, Leathers, shrimp. Been in Display for 2 more months, hasn't touched anything, but also hasn't eaten prepared food in either tank. The fish survives on picking at rocks, and is really fat, so must be getting enough food.

Cherub Angel (Centropyge argi)

Completely Reef Safe in my tank, showed no interest in softies, LPS, SPS, derasa clam or anemonies.
