Mag 18 with mazzei Venturi. Keep in mind stand is ultra tall (36 inches) it's 30 inches to bulk head. I literally can crawl around in stand. The tank is so tall wife can't see into canopy without step stool lol

I actually lowered it to right at flange last night before I went to bed. In the morning I had a few cups of iced tea in the container :bounce3:. I've got it setup to turn off if the external cup gets full and it'll email me so no worries, but thanks!
 
I think that's a big no no of MTC SKIMMERS

Lifereef SKIMMERS ALL THE WAY

Also outlet of MTC skimmer is bottom of skimmer and you can rotated the outlet 120 degrees but only if you running it in the sump because I think that bottom outlet licks so there's no way you can run that skimmer outside the sump

Ok let suppose it can be run external how do you going to set it up with outlet of skimmer in one side and the inlet on the other side

If take a look to LIFEREEF SKIMMER both inlet and outlet are in same side so you can run externally with pump inside the sump or with pump out of the sump

What do you think and on top of that the out let is to low are you going to open a hole that low in your sump so you can have back flow or go to homedepot and get and 90 dog elbow and lift the outlet up
 
I'm not sure I really understand the problem. Lifereef and MTC are highly customizable. A call and a talk to the owners about what one wants to do should be all that's needed.
 
Anyone know what size Mazzei are on the life reef skimmers ????

I would like to up grade my old skimmer to a Mazzei. Is there just one they use. Or do they use different one for different skimmers???

What size skimmer and what pump are you using? Mazzei makes several 1" injectors, 978 & 1078 seem to be the most popular.
 
I'm using 978 and the pump is syncretic 4.0

But I'm changing right now for a pump for mag 18 let see how it work

Sorry I was running a syncra 4.0
