That pump does not look like the other pump in the picture. The first one appears to be a Askoll and this latest picture does not?

We do not have the final spec's from manufacturer at this time. We wanted to share this to everyone because we believe that Skimz is committed in providing innovative straight forward design to improve performance and value throughout their product lines. It looks like an Askoll to me. I think it might just look weird due to the fittings that are added on that pump.

The Askoll has a hump on the top of the pump. The second one does not.

My RD 4.5 and 12 askoll motor blocked pumps don't have that hump. I don't think that's a differentiator. It might be calcium bypass etc... At least I've been told that's the motor block on my RDs.

I'm not sure how many times I can re-post this. If you really want info about this skimmer try contacting Skimz, I bet Aquacave really wants more info also and would not benefit at all by not telling more if they knew it. They are a business to make money by selling these things, if they knew more info and could tell people so they could entice people to wait and buy a product from them they would put the info out there.

And secondly, unless u have a much larger system other than your 72g none of these skimmer will probably fit the bill for you. The (smallest) 200 is rated up to 660g and they may over rate their skimmers but not by that much. All of these will be way too much skimmer for your tank.

Hope you can work on your patience and respect these vendors trying to carry these new products ASAP.
